“Does the trick if you’re on a budget”
+Location right by Chedraui, puerto escondido bus and shared van stations, far from surf spots like la punta, super affordable room luckily. Nice rooftop to hang out while you wait for your room to cool down. Charlie one of the receptionists was so kind!
−Random drunk people sleeping right outside our room asking for money, the air con didnt work although thats why we initially booked it and they didnt bother fixing it

+The staff were friendly and helped me arrange my next leg of the journey. The location is absolutely brilliant. 5 minute walk from the ado bus depot, chedraui and local bus stop. Toilet, shower and bed was simple which is very fair given the price. Air con was such a big win. The upstairs terrace was a lovely vibe with wooden stairs and tables and views over the beach. Loved it

+This is a really great hostel except for the noise from the billiards room upstairs; they blast some pretty awful music into the night. And apparently it's the owner that controls both so it is incomprehensible how he can be so inconsiderate. This is by far the cheapest hostel in town and the staff was great. Very helpful and patient with my mangled Spanish, plus most spoke reasonable English. There's a great kitchen up on the roof offering a nice view, even to Zicatela so if you have a great eyes, or binoculars, you can check out the wave height right there. Another good place to check waves is on the south side of the overpass really close to Chedraui (15.861932685077825, -97.06668131946185 on Google Maps). You cross the highway on the overpass and on the south side you can see part of Zicatela. No hot water but the showers are reasonably clean. The mattresses were really good. I was there in March-April of 2026 so maybe they have replaced them recently. Another unfortunate problem for non-smokers is this place, like so many hostels, really seems to attract smoking, both tobacco and pot. You can smell it most everywhere if there isn't a strong wind. −Dogs and roosters have very penetrating vocal abilities. It takes a LOT of careful soundproofing and sealing to block it out. They don't seem to care a bit. Though when you go to more upper scale areas it's a lot quieter. And the dogs are screechy, little pesky tiny dogs with shrill barks. They are really expensive in most western countries, like probably around $1000 USD but in Mexico they are running around everywhere. In months there I saw Mexicans walking their dogs maybe 3 times. Clearly they have little care for their pets. You see birds in the worst cages in utter filth. Nobody cares.

“Anfitriones amables y huéspedes irrespetuosos”
+Es una buena ubicación del hostal, el personal es súper amable y atento, tuvimos un percance con ptro huésped que estando ebrio se metió a los dormitorios de las mujeres, y actuaron de manera rápida y dieron solución inmediata.
−Considero que deberían colocar un reglamento estable con tolerancia cero, es mi primera vez rentando en su hostal, pero los otros huéspedes fueron desagradables, por ejemplo, el incidente con el borracho que estaba en la sala común o en el cuarto de mujeres una huésped se puso el ventilador para ella sola, ya casi lo mete a su cama, cuando era un ventilador compartido, no puede dormir por el calor, y también la cama se hundía mucho. Igual el baño del cuarto estaba lleno de arena de la playa, considero que deberían poner una regadera afuera para que igual no les afecte sus instalaciones a futuro.

+Posto orrendo per nulla accogliente e se costa poco c’è un motivo, perché è una fogna.
−- l’aria condizionata in camera è come se non ci fosse - l’atmosfera dell’ostello non è accogliente - gente che fa rumore tutto il tempo anche di notte e non si può riposare - la posizione è vicina ad Ado e al Chedraui, ma è lontano da tutte le spiagge - la cucina è sporchissima e non è mai stata pulita
