“Beautiful and rejuvenating stay at Casa D'Arca”
+Casa D'Arca exceeded our expectations in every way. Luisa and Mario were warm and welcoming hosts, providing recommendations for local restaurants, a Douro River boat tour, a scenic train ride, and local wineries. The house and guest rooms are impeccably designed and reflect the charm and history of the region. I especially loved the patio and pool area, which felt like a private little oasis among the ancient stone buildings, steep winding roads, and rolling hills of the Douro Valley. I had the pleasure of enjoying this beautiful space with our hostess Luisa one afternoon, sharing a glass of Casa D'Arca's own port, some fresh fruit and nuts collected from Casa D'Arca's own fruit trees, and a very enjoyable conversation about music, work, and family. Luisa was gracious enough to speak with us in English the entire time, since none of us speak Portuguese. She claimed her English wasn't very good but we all disagreed and greatly appreciated her willingness to practice her English with us! Each morning, Luisa prepared a delicious breakfast consisting of locally sourced items, including fruit and homemade preserves from Casa D'Arca's own fruit trees. She also packed a bag for us each d

“This is a wonderful place to stay , with delightful hosts and good wine”
+We had the most wonderful stay here. Our hosts are delightful and very helpful with advice on what to do in the area. The beds, pillows and linen were so comfortable - we slept very well. The Casa is tastefully decorated and has everything you need. The breakfasts are delicious and have huge choice. Their own Casa d'Arca is excellent.

“It was like being at friends house”
+We loved the location, it is close to the most incredible landscapes in the country, the Douro region. The room was very comfortable, we felt very welcomed by the very kind owners, we shared lots of personal experiences.

+Very nice comfortable and cozy home. Pretty view and a very friendly host. Right at the beginning she gave us some tipps for some restaurants and Trekkings. Her son did a wine tasting with us with their own wines. Highly recommended! Depending on your package, you can try different amount of wines and you can even keep the bottles. Breakfast is made by the host every morning, different and nice choices.
−The room is inside her house. So you have to pass the kitchen to get in and outside. They also have a room inside their garden which is separate from the house. The room is also quite small but still comfortable and if you do not stay inside the room all the time, it's completely fine. She has a dog and there are dogs in the neighborhood. The dog is barking frequently, but he is not dangerous st all. If you walk through the neighborhood though, you always have dogs barking around unfortunately.

“Vackert, genuin, trevligt och välsmakande”
+Ett mycket vackert, smakfullt och bekvämt boende med en svalkande pool i en trevlig och genuin by med flera fina restauranger. Mycket riklig och välsmakande frukost med ett stort utbud av läckra produkter från de egna markerna. Värdparet Luisa och Mario är mycket gästvänliga och har även egen produktion av högklassiga viner och olivolja. Utmärkt läge bland vinodlingarna högt över floden Duoro med närhet till flera intressanta besöksmål och aktiviteter.
