“Good value for money, with simple but thoughtful breakfasts and comfortable beds.”
+Breakfast was definitely the highlight of my stay. Nothing fancy, but each morning we were served two baguettes along with something to go with them, such as an omelette, a shake or cereal. What I appreciated most was the effort to offer something different each day rather than serving the same thing repeatedly. Simple, but good enough to start the day! I also loved the thick blankets, especially in the cold weather, and the privacy curtains provided for each bed. The hostel is slightly away from the town centre, but it didn’t bother me. It’s approximately a 15-minute walk to Plaza de Armas. Since most people come to Huaraz for hiking and outdoor activities, I don’t think the extra walking distance is a big deal, especially if you’re used to walking.
−I understand the owner, may have a lot on his plate, but I wish he had been more upfront about the breakfast arrangement for early morning excursions. We only requested some bread to take along, as our excursion started at 6 am and was organised through the hostel itself. He assured us that he would leave it outside our door in case they weren’t awake yet. Unfortunately, we left without anything. Honestly, I would have preferred him to simply say that they couldn’t accommodate the request. At least then, we could have made our own arrangements beforehand. It’s disappointing to be given a promise that wasn’t followed through, especially when it could have been easily avoided with better communication.

“Amazing”
+Lovely hostel I loved it. It was extremely comfortable, the shower was great with amazing pressure and hot water, and everything was clean and perfect.
−It’s technically not far from the central plaza, but you have to walk around to get there so it is about a 15 minute walk.
