“Beautiful property, beautiful scenery, wonderful hosts.”
+The hosts make the experience what it is. They make you feel like you can ask them for anything you need and they’ll do their absolute best to provide it. They were always readily available and able to assist with any information we needed about the local area and things to do. Clelland recommended we visit the local distillery so we pre-booked a tour based on his recommendation and had a great experience. The wildlife around the property was amazing and the local Inn was fantastic for food at dinner time. If you’re lucky enough to experience a clear sky the stars are on full display, so in the Castle suite with the skylight it was beautiful. If back on Arran we wouldn’t hesitate to book this property again, mostly due to the welcoming nature of Clelland and Christine.
−Nothing. No negatives at all.

“A perfect pampering retreat in glorious surroundings.”
+We had an outstanding stay and could not fault the experience in any way. Our hosts were attentive and happy to assist with dietary requests. They even took us to and from a local restaurant so that we could both enjoy a drink with our meal. A fabulous, relaxing, luxurious time that we are eager to repeat!

+Very welcoming, great location, lots of thoughtful touches. It was also really useful that there are EV charging points at the visitor centre just at the main road (couple of minutes walk away).

“Lovely room, but they need to sort out food.”
+Gorgeous room. Hugely spacious, beautifully decorated. Thoughtful complimentary items (crisps, proper milk for tea etc)
−Breakfast served as a picnic in the bedroom - weird! Think they haven't finished refurbing a breakfast room maybe? No hot breakfast available, limited option on cold. No proper coffee. Quite expensive.

“An outstanding B&B in a glorious part of the world”
+Christine and Clelland were amazing hosts, full of great tips and knowledge of the island they made our trip so special. The suite we stayed in is exceptional, so clean, comfortable and spacious. Lochranza and Butt lodge is full of wildlife and tranquility we thoroughly recommend it.

“Great start of our journey”
+Stayed with my daughter of 22 in June. Exceptional service. Impeccable rooms and breakfast. Very helpful. The owners Clelland and Christine provided a very homely and welcoming, but also private stay. We loved it. The breakfast is a highlight. Good beds. Curtains and blankets in matching check pattern. Walk from there to Saxxon was very good. Busstop 10 mins walk, at the distillery.

“We are recommending Butt Lodge to all our friends and family. We will be back with a longer stay.”
+Reception, hospitality, meeting our needs and generally making life enjoyable.
−While the breakfast hamper idea is a good one, we would recommend a toaster in the room to enable hot toast. In fact serving a cold breakfast on a cold morning is not very enjoyable. Cereal, milk, boiled eggs and toast would be great given the facilities are there to make a good quality coffee.
