“Relaxing”
+The historic authenticity features and the helpfulness of the staff from beginning to end
−Noise from the road, but there is nothing you can do about that. Only a bath was available in the room, but again, the building didn't allow for much else

+The staff were excellent and really helpful. The cooked breakfast was brilliant. Great atmosphere in the whole accommodation.

−TV didn't work in the room unless you cast feom your mobile phone (which isn't ideal. Paid for breakfast, but didn't receive it as staff failed to tell us the chef was off sick. Still have not been given a refund!

“Not Very Boutique”
+There is a lot of charm to the place. Little details like the lights that look like candles and the carved doorframes. The room had a little fridge and robes, which were so comfortable. The food was so good as well, we had the burgers, with some pork bites to share and the cocktails were great. The staff were also so friendly and warm.
−Unfortunately there were a couple things that really let the place down. It advertised itself as a Boutique Hotel, but is sat next to a garage and a very busy road, you could hear the cars going until about midnight. There was also quite loud music playing until about 11:30pm from the pub which was located right beneath our room. At one point the patrons outside were screaming and shouting at each other, some sort of fight was breaking out. The breakfast that was included was described as 'continental' but was really just boxes of cereal, boxes of juice and a couple apples and oranges (the cooked breakfast saved the day). The thing that disappointed me most though was the room. The ceiling chandelier was crooked, and a coat hook was hanging off the door. The fabric headboard was ripped to pieces, with the foam showing underneath. Worst of all, when I booked the Superior Double Room, it showed pictures of a really cute bathtub. The listing said shower or tub but there were no pictures of the shower. When I got to the room, we had the shower but it was just there in the room, no wall or anything. “Perfectly nice and everything we needed, just different from the picture.”
+The food in the pub was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It was a really lovely atmosphere.
−The room was very basic compared to the opulent picture. I would rather a more basic picture and know what we’re getting. There really was absolutely nothing wrong with the room (for the price). Just not what I was expecting.

“Nice place happy to recommend”
+The room is tastefully decorated. The staff are very nice. Bed was comfortable and the en-suite spacious. The bar / restaurant downstairs is nice and the staff attentive. Happy to recommend.
−Unexplainable strong cigarette smoke was wafting directly outside my room. Plus my booking had a room with a desk and bath but I was given a different room with neither. No great issue I just worked downstairs in the bar.

“Fair value but some practical points would've made for a better stay.”
+Clean room, comfy bed, plenty of space to hang clothes. The bathroom was nice. The evening good in the pub was tasty and good value. Felt fair value.
−The room was extremely warm due to underfloor heating on full-blast with no way to turn it down/off, and on the ground floor so leaving the windows open overnight didn't feel ideal (and also an absurd waste of electricity!). Breakfast was said to start at 7am, though the entire pub was closed and locked with no sign of breakfast right up until I left at 8am, and there were no instructions about it in the room besides 'breakfast from 7am' and no other communication from staff on this at check-in. No details about check-out and no members of staff around the morning. The taps in the bath dripped constantly despite my best efforts to turn them off. There is no sound insulation between rooms so I had to listen to a neighbours lengthy phone conversation until very late. The TV did not work.
