“Charming hotel in a lovely area, loved it.”
+The hotel was in an excellent safe location close to the old town, shopping mall, plenty of restaurants and public transport. The English Park is only a 5 minute walk and is where the surfers entertain the onlookers by surfing the river. The old town is a 15 minute walk and has stunning historical buildings with stories to tell. Upmarket designer label shops mix comfortably with shopping malls and restaurants, just a pleasure to visit. The hotel old building is a treat and our room was just what we needed for our short stay, The breakfast room and drinks lounge very cosy and inviting, breakfast was very good. The staff were all so welcoming, helpful and pleasant. We would recommend a stay in the Splendid Hotel.

“Excellent character and location”
+Very nice feel and atmosphere, which made us feel good about being there. It had a lovely bourgeois feel, which is a compliment, with novellas (in German) on the pillows and in the sitting room every book ever written by Thomas Mann, plus a gramophone of the same model that he had. Genuinely a boutique hotel with real character. Room size was only average. The location is exceptional: the Lehel district is upmarket and close to central Munich, while having a villagey feel because that is what it once was, redeveloped in the 1890 as apartments. Just around the corner is a beautiful little piazza area with restaurants, a couple of cafes, and an extraordinary 1900 neo-Romanesque church which is much more interesting than it sounds. The tram and U Bahn were right below (no noise: excellent soundproofing). It can be difficult to find good accommodation in Munich, and this was quite a find. Thoroughly recommended. Exceptionally nice and helpful staff.
−The single duvets, German style, were too thin (not proper padded duvets) and kept coming off and disrupting sleep. Breakfast was average but there are good cafes nearby.

+While good, we stayed in other locations in Germany where the breakfasts were better and cheaper.
−The toilet was wedged between the shower and the wall, which made it difficult to access.

“Enjoyed the location, however, the boutique hotel was very average.”
+We liked the location and proximity to the English gardens, walking trails and the Isar canals. We also were close enough to walk to the Marienplatz and old town Munich. Plenty of restaurants with in walking distance from the hotel.
−Loud construction beginning at 6:30 am directly across the street. Incessant trolley noise on the street in front of hotel. Very limited selection for breakfast and cost $16 euros per person each day. Paid Parking available at a garage near by.

“Nettes Boutique-Hotel in Zentrumsnähe”
+Sehr gut gelegenes Boutique-Hotel in angenehmer Größe. Zimmer sind nett hergerichtet, Personal beim Empfang extrem freundlich. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist sehr reichhaltig und gut.
−Das Badezimmer ist extrem klein und schon in die Jahre gekommen und bedarf sicherlich wieder einmal einer nachhaltigen Sanierung. Es könnte stellenweise auch noch mehr Augenmerk auf die Sauberkeit gelegt werden

“Super Lage, grundsätzlich gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, gerne wieder.”
+Die Lage im Altstadt-Lehel ist hervorragend. Das Hotelpersonal war ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit.
−Das Zimmer war etwas dunkel, aber sehr geräumig. Leider gab es keine Minibar, aber auf Anfrage wurde uns ein kleiner Kühlschrank aufs Zimmer gebracht. Wir haben diesen für Medikamente benötigt. Einige Steckdosen im Zimmer funktionierten nicht. Aber nach dem Prinzip try ans error hatten wir irgendwann alle elektronischen Geräte angeschlossen.

“Pärchen Urlaub”
+Ich liebe dieses schnuckelige Stadthotel. 2min von U-Bahn und Straßenbahn entfernt, kann auch viele Sachen fußläufig erreichen. Das Frühstück ist so liebevoll vorbereitet, das Personal ist durch die Bank freundlich und aufmerksam.
−Eine kleine Baustelle...wussten wir aber vorher. Der " Lärm " hielt sich total im Rahmen. Da wir einiges besichtigen wollten, war das auch kein Problem.

“Prima”
+Lokatie prima. Schone kamer. Vriendelijk personeel. Om de hoek een biologische supermarkt, bakker en wat restaurantjes. Te voet ben je in minuut of tien in hart van de stad met heel veel restaurantjes.
−Geen echte minpunten. Misschien af en toe wat straatgeluiden ( tram, iemand wat roepen), maar dat stelt niet veel voor als je kijkt naar de centrale ligging.
