9.0“Unique and surprisingly private.”
+Our host Ruud was extremely helpful and accommodating. The boat was very spacious and well presented, and to our surprise very quiet seeing as it was in such a great central location. Ruud has installed all the mod-cons, and digital aids. We felt very safe and secure there. Bars and restaurants all nearby as well as little supermarkets for supplies. Very close to the train station. We had come off a 15 day river cruise so needed a break from groups and I would highly recommend this for something a bit unique and quite private. Very good!
−Initially the access steps were a little daunting, but they were fine once we got used to them.

10.0“Perfect and unique spot to stay for a few days in Amsterdam.”
+Such a lovely unique, quiet, beautiful spot to stay. Close to everything, but just far enough away to be lovely and peaceful. Very simple process to check in/out etc. Very special to stay on the water and so much better than a bog standard hotel room (and more cost effective).

10.0“Perfect accommodation in quiet central location.”
+We loved staying on this house boat in Amsterdam! Just a few minutes walk from Central Station in a central yet quiet location in the city centre. The accommodation is spacious with 2 large comfortable beds and is well equipped. The shower is great too. The lockable metal gate and coded entrance to the living area made us feel safe and secure. I really don't think we could have had a better place to stay for our holiday in Amsterdam. It was beautiful being right on the water rather than staying in a hotel and added to our experience.
−We liked everything about it.

9.0“Highly recommend this houseboat for a stay in Amsterdam.”
+Loved my stay on this houseboat. It was very spacious, quiet and comfortable. The bed was great and very nice to have so much space and open windows vs a small hotel room. Bathroom and shower were also very good for a houseboat. The boat is on one of the quieter canals so overall

9.0+Great location. The houseboat was terrific. It had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Walkable to shops, cafes, supermarkets, central train station. I would stay here in a heartbeat if I ever return to Amsterdam.

5.0“Disappointing end to a lovely stay with a bizarre deposit system.”
+Boat no Breakfast was comfortable and clean and spacious. With really thought out features making for a great and enjoyable stay. It was in a nice quiet neighbourhood with an easy walk to a variety of transit options. Opposite there is a lovely local bar and a short walk a cafe and record store that we went to most days. Ruud welcomed us with nuts and fruit which was lovely.
−However, I am afraid I will not be staying at Boat no Breakfast again and I am hesitant to recommend it. This property asks for a €200 cash security deposit, we did not bring cash and so Ruud took the payment on card. He did not explain that the costs of this would be passed on to us, nor is it written down in the listing at all if a card payment is chosen. This cost us approximately €7 in fees, I have never had a deposit taken this way ever on any property I have booked through booking.com. This is something set totally independently by the owner and if your home currency isn't in Euros then the guest are at a loss either way. I am not sure what Ruud expected us to do with €200 in cash on the day that we are leaving Amsterdam! If your home currency is Euros and this deposit method doesn't bother you then this is a fine place to stay. However, if you don't want to be charged at least €7 or left with €200 in cash at the end of your stay I would stay somewhere else.
