“I had a great short stay at the Black Cat while in Galway for work. It’s in Salthill rather than the city centre, but it”
+I really liked the Black Cat. It was quiet, extremely clean and felt fresh from the moment I walked in. Self check-in was convenient, and the tea facilities on every floor were a lovely touch. The value was excellent,a private en-suite room in a small boutique hotel for what you might pay for a hostel. The room was small but perfect for one person staying a night or two, and I much preferred having my own space .
−There was nothing I particularly disliked. The building itself was quiet, although there was some street noise. That’s outside the hotel’s control, and I had earplugs with me, so it wasn’t an issue. Overall, it was perfect for my stay and excellent value for the price paid.

+I liked the decor, which although minimal was themed and tasteful. The vibe was comfortable and cosy. Also the Black Cat team are so helpful and friendly.

“Great location”
+The location is great right in the heart of Salthill. The bed was comfortable and room nice and airy.
−145e for a single bedroom I found quite steep. I would have liked if check out could be 12 and not 11. It can be a bit loud hearing others enter their rooms during the night.

“Tasty, cosy, classy”
+Beautifully clean, new, tastfully done, very small double room with ensuite, and on street window above a small classy looking restaurant which unfortunately I didn't get to eat in right in the middle of Salthill.

“Wonderful for solo traveller”
+What a great little place. Excellent for a few days stay if you want something other than crowded pubs. Great value, small but cozy rooms, close to wonderful seaside walk, super convenient with both a pharmacy and a convenience store right across the street, a good asian restaurant next door, and a laundromat just a few doors away. But the best part is that the food at the Black Cat is wonderful (dinner only), the staff is warm and helpful, and they treat solo travelers with courtesy.
−I was okay with the room size but be warned that they are cozy.

“Meh !!”
+The property is fairly located to the marina or the coastline. 1 can ride the bus anywhere they want from here 20 part of town. They have some good eating spots around the property as well.
−There was construction going on around the property when they arrive, which is temporary so it should go away. However, the rooms are really dinky and extremely pricey for the little town.
