10.0+Although the cottage was a bit isolated, the owner and staff were more than happy to drive us to the hire shop, and to the ski location every day.

10.0“Extremely comfortable ski travel ever”
+The host was incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout our entire stay. He took great care of all the small daily details, from helping us unload luggage on arrival to patiently answering every question we had. Whether it was giving practical advice when our car had a tire issue, helping us find solutions for laundry, or sharing local tips, he was always happy to assist. His responsiveness and kindness made us feel very well looked after. The room was also very well equipped, especially the drying room, which was extremely convenient for drying ski gear after returning from the slopes each day. Overall, a truly pleasant and stress-free stay.
−Nth else but just the weather. The hoist is excellent. All stuff perfect with excellent support. Helpful and friendly indeed. Must come again

5.0“Don’t stay here unless you have a car”
+Tools had their own bathroom which is great. Most places in Japan don’t have this.
−This place needs some work, I don’t often leave reviews but I will in this case. Hotel is out of the way and is very isolated. Do not stay here if you don’t have a car! The rooms had little furniture, just mattresses on the floor, the pictures when you book don’t reflect this. We wanted western beds and they were spring mattress and the springs poked through. Probably up there with the worst spring mattress I have ever slept on. Breakfast is served at 8am which is kind of late if you want to head up the mountain. We did request breakfast early and we were accommodated, but it consisted of a loaf of bread and spreads. The drying room must be turned off at night, so the gear didn’t dry which wasn’t great for the kids gloves.

6.0“Nice place, I would come again but make sure I have a car. They did pick us up from the bus station.”
+Good location however to get the best you should have a hire car.
−Could have better knowledge of the local ski areas on the notice board.

9.0“Great stay”
+The room is decent for sleep and heating is great. The owner pretty helpful providing information and kindly drop us at the rental. They have drying room for gear and washing. If you rent a car, i recommend this hotel.
−Lack of transportation and food option nearby. Walking to the hotel from public road takes time.

4.0“If it’s an option, consider somewhere else.”
+The location was ok! We had a car, not sure how convenient you’d find it without a car. We had access to a toaster, hot water and microwave from 10am - 10pm.
−There is so much lost potential at Beck Cottage. Communication was a problem, the owner (male) doesn’t speak English or Japanese. The female hosts, one was particularly unhappy being there and didn’t try to hide it, the other was very friendly and tried hard to help us but was only there the last day of our trip. The rooms are treated more like self contained apartments (which is fine but not advertised like that), no bath mat & we had to ask for toilet paper twice. The drying room heater was rarely on, resulting in riding with wet gloves. It’s very apparent the owner does not ride/ski. The common areas were not warm or inviting. It felt like the owner was cost cutting, no heaters were on, only a small fire, the hot water was turned off each night from 1-5am. Breakfast was ordinary, a piece of bread, small croissant, small salad and sausages, served 8-10am which wasn’t great for early mornings on the mountains, again, apparent he doesn’t ride. If you want a hot breaky, go get a Konbini breaky at lawsons or 7/11… hot chicken on pancakes 👌 The wifi was patchy. Path to the front door was kept clear, but definition of stairs to the incline of the actual concrete stairs would have been
