10.0“Charming and Friendly Retreat”
+Why stay in a corporate hotel or motel when you can enjoy true hospitality in a unique, artistic, and natural get-away? Jim, our host, offered us kind and personal attention along with very delicious home-made pastries and frittatas. The Hermitage is comfortable and set in a wooded area with beautiful gardens. It is convenient to downtown Beacon with its great restaurants, but is also quiet and set apart in the forest. We left feeling rested and grateful for being hosted generously.
−The road is a bit busy, but it offers easy access to Beacon.

10.0“A beautiful place run by wonderful people!”
+The breakfast was delicious. The frittatas and pastries and tamales were out of this world. The paintings are beautiful! And the garden was my favorite part of the whole place.

9.0+The hermitage is a very cute and fun inn with a beautiful and expansive garden / grounds to roam. We also really enjoyed being walking distance to a hiking trail and a short drive into Beacon. And the host, Joe, was very friendly and welcoming.

10.0+This was more than a beautiful place to stay,it felt like being welcomed into a home shaped by art, care, and love. The garden was peaceful and dreamlike, and every detail inside, the coffee and tea, the beautiful glassware, and especially the robes, made us feel wonderfully cared for. As a lesbian couple, we felt completely safe, comfortable, and at ease. Jim was exceptionally warm and kind, and our whole stay had a rare serenity to it. A truly special place to rest, be together, and remember.

9.0+Breakfast was delicious; fresh baked pastry and frittata.
−The location is right off a rural stretch of Route 9D with traffic. The signage is hard to read, especially at night. GPS is essential.

+The rooms feature so much art work yet everything is comfortably spaced so you feel immersed but not overwhelmed. The breakfast frittata at breakfast great. I would stay at least 2 nights in the future to hike and explore the watering hole.

10.0“Wonderful stay and great conversation”
+We had a wonderful stay at the Beacon Hermitage. There are many helpful, positive reviews for this location, so we won't re-state them all. Of course the stay was nice, but the real gems are Jim, Joe, and their dogs! Our favorite part of the stay was getting to chat with them. They are lovely, interesting people. As with anywhere you go in the world, when you bring good energy and are considerate of the fact that you are entering someone's home and sharing a space with others, you attract good energy! Easy check-in, excellent location, comfortable room, completely reasonable norms, delicious breakfast with plenty of options, cute home, gorgeous grounds.

10.0“A short break near a country town made memorable by our hosts”
+This B&B is a peaceful oasis largely due to its hosts, Jim and Joe, who are delightful and friendly, and put themselves out for us to to feel welcome. Jim, as front of house, having not lost his strong Glasgow accent, shared an experience of childhood very close to my husband's and was up for some thoughtful philosophical discussions, leaning into the positive. He also supplied us with home made frittata and turnovers for breakfast with excellent coffee! The house is close to the small town of Beacon which is enough of a tourist venue to have a good range of classy eating options. We did not have our own transport and so we relied on taxis but Jim also gave us some lifts into town that were over and above and much appreciated.

10.0“Beautiful property, huge garden space, and fabulous art and decor everywhere.”
+My mom and I stayed for the weekend and had the best time. Jim and Joe were so welcoming as soon as we arrived. We instantly felt at home. They were so friendly and accommodating and had great recommendations about what to do for the weekend. We also loved all the art and beautiful antiques all over the home. And the garden and outdoor space was spectacular. They have such great taste and everything was beautiful. Thank you Jim and Joe for making us feel like family!! We will definitely be back!
