“Run-down motel at upscale hotel prices. Does not seem to care about customers.”
−Probably the worst hotel experience we had in decades of traveling across the US, having stayed in hundreds of hotels of all types and categories. Here's why: - At check-in, front desk staff was VERY unfriendly, not even looking at us once during the whole check-in process. There were quite a few people waiting for rooms long at ca. 5:20 pm, which was long after check-in time (4pm). There was construction going on at the roof and the building looked quite messy and uninviting, with debris on the floor, plastic covers loosely hanging down the walls, etc. - After some waiting time, we were finally sent to a room. When opening the door, a wave of horrible smell hit us. My wife entered the room for a short while, trying to find out what was wrong: It was filled with toxic gases from a machine supposedly used to kill bad smells. When exiting the room, my wife started to suffer from breathing problems and nausea - We returned to the front desk and shared what had happened. Staff did not really care but told us that the system had shown the room as ready so it wasn't their fault. The gas-generating machine should not have been in there. - When the manager on duty arrived (Chrissie?), she

“Nice hotel and great location but getting expensive”
+Location is great and they take dogs!
−Fall rates seemed to high-I did a double take when I saw them, seems like we paid for in summer- normally rates on the coast drops in fall, stills nice hotel but I might think of staying elsewhere if they don’t lower off season rates

+The hotel is very charming and well kept. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a nice view of the ocean and there's coastal access. Really enjoyed our stay very much.
