“A wonderful final night in Sri Lanka”
+A Wonderful Final Night in Sri Lanka We spent our last night in Sri Lanka at Bakers Cottage, and it was a wonderful way to finish our trip. The room was perfect, very clean, and beautifully arranged. We really loved the architecture and the peaceful atmosphere. The sound of the waves together with the birds created such a relaxing feeling, while the surrounding greenery made us feel comfortable and connected with nature. The swimming pool was also a highlight , clean, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing. We booked the Madu River mangrove boat ride and a visit to the turtle hatchery through the host, and both experiences were amazing. We also had an authentic Sri Lankan dinner, which was absolutely delicious and a lovely cultural experience. The host, Kasun, was extremely friendly and helpful. One of the most memorable parts of our stay was going with him to a nearby temple at night. He explained Buddhist culture and history to us in a very simple and interesting way, which gave us a genuine opportunity to connect with the local culture. Kasun has a great knowledge of Buddhism, history, and psychology, and his explanations made the experience even more meaningful. If you want to expl

+The staff were really helpful and did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The evening meal was traditional Sri Lankan and was amazing. (It was the only Sri Lankan food our eat all trip.

+Kasun was incredibly helpful with arranging a river safari and transport to/from the turtles and a souvenir shop! The breakfast and dinners were excellent and huge (for a family of 4), the property was spacious, clean and very well presented. The swimming pool was great.

“Alles ist perfekt im Baker’s Cottage.”
+Wir hatten ursprünglich nur eine Nacht im Baker’s Cottage gebucht. Doch nachdem wir die Kombination aus schlichtem Luxus und der ruhigen Atmosphäre erlebt hatten, beschlossen wir, unseren Aufenthalt um weitere drei Nächte zu verlängern. Das üppige Grün, der wunderschöne Garten mit vielen verschiedenen Vogelarten und die tausenden Glühwürmchen am Abend machten unseren Aufenthalt zu etwas ganz Besonderem. Der Swimmingpool war sowohl für unsere Kinder als auch für Erwachsene, die einfach entspannen wollten, perfekt. Die Mutter des Gastgebers bereitete für uns köstliche traditionelle sri-lankische Gerichte zu. Jedes Essen war hervorragend. Besonders empfehlen wir ihr selbstgemachtes Kottu - das sollten Sie auf keinen Fall verpassen! Außerdem begleiteten sie uns zur Schildkrötenaufzuchtstation, wo wir viel über den Schutz der Meeresschildkröten lernten. Wir hatten sogar das Glück, kleine Schildkröten ins Meer freilassen zu dürfen - ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Ein weiteres Highlight war unsere Sonnenaufgangstour durch die Mangroven des Madu-Flusses. +I came to Bakers Cottage for just one night, but because of the warm hospitality and the beauty of this place, I decided to stay 05 more days. The garden is filled with luxurious greenery and the peaceful sound of birds, making every morning feel fresh and relaxing. Every morning, monkeys visit the garden, which makes the experience even more special. The sound of the waves reaches the rooms like a soft whisper from the beach. Mother prepares delicious Sri Lankan breakfasts every morning, and you should definitely try the traditional Sri Lankan herbal drink. Guests can also order lunch and dinner from the cottage, all homemade with love by Mother. It’s a perfect chance to taste a variety of authentic Sri Lankan local dishes. They also provide airport shuttle service with a friendly driver, and guests can easily plan their entire Sri Lanka trip with Kasun, the host. One of the most unforgettable experiences was seeing turtles and having the chance to release baby turtles into the sea. It was truly magical and emotional. Finally, don’t miss the Madu River boat safari and the Ayurvedic massage experience. Definitely, I will come back again!

“A home stay is an excellent way of seeing the way Sri Lankan families live. I”
+Location was ideal as it was on our way back to the airport. It is also a great beach area and famous for turtle hatcheries. We also really enjoyed the Madu boat and river safari. We also managed to fit in a family Ayurveda massage session for all the family which the host family arranged prior to our arrival.

“Hele vriendelijke mensen, maar ook minpunten”
+Heel vriendelijk personeel. Grote tafel pp het terras. Keuken aanwezig. Fijne douche. De vader reed ons in zijn tuktuk naar de schildpaddenopvang en bootsafari en stopte ook bij een supermarktje (op ons verzoek)
−De accomodatie was niet schoon. Zwembad was ook niet helder. Ligging niet aan zee wat volgens omschrijving wel zo is. Avondeten voor 3000 roepie p.p. Is erg duur voor de kleine portie die je krijgt. Wel lekker klaargemaakt door de vrouw des huizes. Ontbijt erg weinig. Zie foto.
