−The bed was so uncomfortable. The shower was either freezing cold or scalding hot, no in between. We had to hand carry our 20 kilos of luggage because there was no lift.

“Would never book again”
+Location is the best thing about Aussie Resort, sits perfectly at Burleigh, close to shops, surf club, restaurants and Paddock.
−While it is an older property and expectations were not high, the standard is really poor. Pool area is small and congested with the pool in the shade in the afternoon. I was in a one bedroom apartment and the furniture is extremely worn, dirty and smelly or beaten up, I chose not to sit on the lounge and I was unable to open the balcony door to let in fresh air, the kitchen is quite functional though for sleeping the bed was unbelievably hard, so uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep. It really needs a topper of some kind. It was a completely flat hard surface, see my attached photos. I was booked in and paid for three nights but I changed to alternate accommodation after the first night, regardless of any chance of a refund, (which I didn't seek). I could never recommend this accommodation and I really hesitate to post negative reviews however it is absolutely warranted here, people want to know this stuff to help them make their decisions.

“For the price, it’s a great location. Rooms need an upgrade.”
+The resort is in prime location, right near the beach, beautiful cafes and restaurants. Burleigh national park walk was so nice to walk through every morning. The managers were amazing, they were very welcoming and Iovely to chat to. I don’t blame them at all for the accommodation not meeting our standards. When you are managing someone else’s property and the owner neglects updating the basics to make guests feel comfortable, I understand their hands are tied. They are also dealing with permanent residents who aren’t abiding by the no smoking rules in their apartments which is also very frustrating for them. They do a wonderful job and if it wasn’t for them I would have rated the stay lower. The pool was lovely and clean and my kids enjoyed it.
−The apartment wasn’t clean on arrival. Dust on surfaces and in wardrobe. I had to scrub the shower myself to remove the mould build up. Managers were accommodating with cleaning products for me to use. Mould on the roof of the shower area. Skirting boards and power boards all filthy on the top and hadn’t been wiped down in a while. Carpets old and smelly. We were in room 59 and on the bottom floor were permanent residents, one of them is a heavy smoker, so every time we entered the building it absolutely stunk of cigarette smoke which isn’t ideal for anyone let alone when bringing our kids in. We couldn’t leave our doors or windows open without getting the smell come through.

“Close to everything but not a comfortable stay.”
+Good location.
−There were no lifts so difficult to carry luggage up many stairs. No comfortable furniture. Very outdated. Some power points not working.
