+I had the most lovely stay in Midigama. The house is tucked into a green oasis of trees and flowering plants. This made my mornings feel like waking up in a little garden. It’s only a five-minute walk to the beach, yet the place is wonderfully peaceful, even though shops and restaurants are just around the corner. My room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. Every morning the host treated me to the most delicious teas. Fragrant, warming, and made with so much care that those quiet moments on the porch became one of my favourite parts of the day. The host was kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. She made me feel completely at home. If you want a calm, green retreat near the beach with a warm, welcoming host, this is a perfect spot!

+Everything! The location is lovely, close to the beach but off the main road in a very nice safe neighborhood. The accommodation itself is perfect for a week stay, we couldve stayed longer because there’s everything you need! Most comfortable bed we’ve slept in so far during our trip in SL. And the pillows.. amazing. Everything was so clean!! The garden is beautifully kept and the host sweeps it in a lovely pattern each morning. I could go on… Host is super sweet, and even though her English was not super, we felt super welcome and at home. She even makes clothes! I bought a beautiful pant-set from her which she finished in no-time. We would absolutely recommend this place from the bottoms of hearts. And!! Almost forgot, she is an amazing cook. One of the best Sri Lankan food we had and wish we knew she had a cooking lesson :-)! So definitely do that with her! One of the best, cleanest, homeliest places we stayed in SL.

−I’m genuinely disappointed by the experience I had with this property. I booked my stay through Booking.com a few days in advance and called on the morning of check-in to confirm everything before travelling down south. During the first call, I was told the room was ready, and I informed them that I would be arriving around 3 PM for a late check-in. A short while later, I received another call saying the room was suddenly unavailable because the toilet “wasn’t flushing.” The timing of this was extremely suspicious, as it happened only after they realized I was a local traveler through the phone conversation. What made the experience especially unpleasant was the complete lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic hospitality. I explained that I had already travelled a long distance for my vacation and would now be left stranded trying to find another place at the last minute during a busy period. Instead of showing any concern or attempting to help, I was casually told to “check Booking.com, there are many places.” That response felt dismissive, rude, and incredibly inconsiderate. +The area and lane down where the property is located is really nice and peaceful. The hosting family are very kind and respectful of privacy. The room was nicely decorated and everything was kept very clean. I spent 8 days and had a very relaxing and happy stay 😊

“Comfortable Rooms Surrounded by Nature”
+The rooms are very comfortable, with a table, shelves and a clothes rack, a fan, and a private outdoor table on each terrace. It’s a very cute place surrounded by nature you can spot monkeys, mongooses, and beautiful birds right from your terrace. It’s away from the noise of the train lines and main streets, yet still just a few minutes away. The neighborhood feels very safe - I always felt comfortable walking alone after dark. The family is very kind and always ready to help with anything you need 💕
