“I would not recommend this place the website lied and the owner didn’t rectify the problems.”
+The property had a nice communal deck with a view.
−We stayed in the family room and there were no operating windows. The window was about 12x16 inches and 8 or 9 feet off the ground. It could be opened with rock climbing up the wall. There was absolutely no view and no fresh air. There were no couches as the website stated “2 couches” rather there were 2 ottomans. When I brought up these issues the owner or manager only replied by telling me there were no rooms we could move into. The family room also had a door to the outside that could not be opened.

“What a great little place.”
+The lady that met me was so helpful and left post it notes with little instructions. The view was amazing
−Nothing. Travel tip, if coming by car, try and pack light for 1 night stay as the paths down and up are long and steep. People struggle with suitcases

“1 STAR , READ BEFORE BOOKING”
−We did not stay at Arpaiu because essential information was only sent at around 9:40-9:46 PM the night before check-in. Only then were we told that the private garage costs €90 per day, luggage transport is managed externally and should be booked in advance, parking at the top of the city is not guaranteed and you have to walk down the hill for 30 minutes to reach the property with the luggages!? How are guests supposed to organise anything “in advance” when this is communicated at almost 10 PM the night before arrival? I called the host Danilo immediately to discuss it. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he told me “Mi sto innervosendo” because I was calling at 10 PM, minutes after he had sent the information. He also blamed me because the location is right on a cliff and it’s not his fault if I don’t know where I am going! Anyway, We requested cancellation and a waiver of the non-refundable fee, received no satisfactory response, booked somewhere else and never attended the property and decided to lose our money. The problem is not Manarola. The problem is late communication, poor handling of guests, and important information being provided far too late not mention

“Situation exceptionnelle”
