“Below expectations”
+Our stay at Anchor Guesthouse was unfortunately quite average and did not fully meet expectations. The bedroom itself was acceptable, but the bathroom was a disappointment. It had no window, which made it feel stuffy, and it appeared to need a serious deep clean. Overall, the space looked tired and would really benefit from some maintenance and a fresh coat of paint. One of our main concerns was security. The windows had no burglar bars, which made it uncomfortable to leave them open at night for ventilation, as it felt unsafe and left us worried about our belongings. In general, many aspects of the guesthouse did not feel well-maintained or “fresh.” There were several small details that, taken together, made the stay feel below average rather than comfortable or welcoming. With some attention to cleanliness, security, and general upkeep, this guesthouse could be improved significantly.
−Parking at the back of the guesthouse was also a challenge. The gate you have to drive through was a rusty old farmhouse-style gate that dragged on the paving. It had to be physically heaved upwards just to open and close it, which made coming and going quite a mission.

“Not pleasant at all”
+Nothing.
−Guest house had cockroaches, beds were rock hard, room smell was not pleasant. Tea, coffee and coffee creamer were in small money plastic bag.

+Comfortable place, clean
−The location is on an isolated and unlit dark tarred road with stray wild animals such as kudu/buck. It took us an hour to navigate the road in the rain at night. We also hit a kudu/buck. The road must be mentioned by the host with a warning that the road is best traveled during the day, not at night.

“Even though it was inexpensive the accommodation was sub-par. Would not stay there again.”
+Location fine.
−No soap in the bathroom. Fridge was full of mould - disgusting condition. Needs lots of TLC.
