“A lovely stay but could do with some improvement”
+The food in the restaurant was outstanding and great value for money. Comfy rooms.
−The breakfast was terrible. It was meant to be cooked to order but had clearly been cooked for a while and left out. We had to return both plates as the food tasted like rubber and was cold. There was no heating in the bedroom so quite cold. The food at dinner was fantastic but due to a Georgian night in the same dining room, it qa very noisy. Poor WIFI

“Staff ok. Busy bar due to wedding guests . Felt like they were struggling . Room not great Breakfast very old fashioned”
+Great location
−No advice that restaurant would be closed on the night we were there due to a wedding. Room small. Shower not great . Door handle fell off. Radiator cover fell off.

“A lovely hotel in a quiet neighbourhood”
+It's a very nice hotel in a quiet neighbourhood.
−The location for us wasn't ideal. We had just disembarked from the ferry at Portsmouth and it was a bit too far to drive when tired. When we arrived at the hotel at around 10.30pm there was no-one on Reception and we had to look for someone to give us our room

“A Georgian charmer!”
+A lovely, charming hotel. Yes, I agree with other reviews, it needs a bit of an update in places but the staff are friendly; the bar is convivial and the food is excellent. Would happily stay again.
−Continental breakfast option a bit limited. Cleaning needs to include handles and lights witches too.

“A tired hotel with disappointing execution, needing a slightly more professional and dedicated team.”
+Breakfast was good. Well located for access to other places.
−Tired and dusty hotel room. We were moved because the tiny tv wasn’t working and couldn’t be positioned properly - not sure if the fixing was broken. The room we were moved to had a much bigger and better tv and seemed to be the overnight room for staff. As we were getting comfortable a member of staff unlocked the door and walked in unaware that we’d been transferred.

“Beautiful building, friendly staff.”
+Beautiful building. Friendly staff. Good location (for us).
−Breakfast was a little disorganised. It seemed that there was only 1 member of staff working her socks off! Lack of hot water on day two… Overall, with a bit of love, this could easily be a 4 star hotel.
