+The location was great. The communication with the host was good.
−There was no AC, only the fan. The fan isn’t enough for such high temperatures all day and night. It wasn’t clear that we wouldn’t have total privacy, the curtain separated us in the hall from the host.

“Like a vacation in a dorm”
+Dario (the host) was very kind and helpful. The room is located in a quiet street of Palermo which is pretty close to any must see attraction. You will get a voucher and you can have a decent breakfast at the Bar Gelateria Lucchese. Not just sweet stuff!
−The room is on the edge of tolerance. I think it’s safe to say that it’s not even fair to compare it to any other hotel room. Because it’s not. There are only very few real hotels in Italy. In this country a common thing to rent out one of your rooms in your own flat. I’ve experienced that before in Naples. But… That was new and shocking to me that the host is on the other side of the door. I mean in the same flat. You don’t have much of a privacy. You are not getting in the mood to do anything else than sleep in your room knowing that someone can hear everything. The bed should be replaced immediately. It should be awarded as the squeakiest bed of all time. You can’t sleep on it. (Unless you are deaf.) There is a TV in the room for absolutely no reason. That’s because of the viewing angle. Laughable. Update After reading your response I need to reflect to it. First of all: I have a timeframe to write my reviews on Booking. This is not my life’s priority to do that on the first day but eventually I will, as I always do. Trust me I have a huge experience since I am a Genius 3 member. −Sehr spartanische Einrichtung, kleines Zimmer, hartes Bett, Badezimmer nicht anschließend zum Raum sondern über geteilten Gang mit Gastgeberin (was nicht in der Unterkunft-Beschreibung ersichtlich war)

+L'emplacement, 15-20min du port, de la gare, des sites à visiter. La gentillesse de Sonia pour les horaires de check in et check out
−C'est une chambre chez l'habitant, exposée S-SW, sans climatisation, avec un ventilateur. La salle de bain est certes privative mais il faut traverser le hall d'entrée pour y accéder. Il y a du bruit (porte qui claque à 02:30, des personnes qui parlent au pied de l'immeuble). Les équipements sont vieillots, dépareillés, les sommiers grincent... J'y ai passé 5 nuits, je déconseille d'en faire autant.
