+I stayed here for over 4 nights, and trust me this is one of the best hostel experiences I’ve had on my backpacking trip across Central Asia, the vibes are amazing, plenty of space to socialise, they have an event board where you can see any upcoming parties, the laundry service is decent,The best hostel in Almaty in my opinion

+One of the best places I’ve visited during my year-long journey. If you want to find company for mountain hikes or want to know that there’s always someone to chat with in the evening, this is definitely the place for you. Special thanks to Marci and Araylym for helping out with all my questions!
−It would be great to have shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom. Many travelers (including myself) don't carry them to save backpack weight, and most places usually provide themх

+Really social hostel and great for solo backpackers looking to meet other travellers. Great social space both indoors and outdoors, there's a kitchen but I didn't use it so can't comment on how it is but it was used by a lot of other people. Overall would recommend if you want to meet other travellers and like a social place.
−That there were no privacy curtains for the beds.

“Just Okay. Budget friendly”
+Very social, young backpackers hostel where you can meet people quickly. Would recommend for budget or young travelers
−Facilities were very basic, only 2 functioning toilets for the entire hostel. Minimal kitchen materials for cooking.

+Almaty Backpacker is definitely the place to stay if you’re looking for a social hostel! It’s a fantastic place to start a Central Asia trip, especially if you’re travelling along the same route as other backpackers. We met so many great people and got loads of useful advice and recommendations from others doing the same trail. We had a really great time here and would definitely come back. The rooms are clean, and the shared facilities are also well maintained. Overall, a great hostel with a really friendly and social atmosphere. Highly recommended, especially if you’re starting a Central Asia trip!
−There are only a couple of small things that could be improved. There is a limited number of showers and toilets, so you may occasionally have to wait, and the bathroom floors were often quite wet. That said, these are minor issues and didn’t take away from what was otherwise a great stay.
