6.0“Hotel off the main drag”
+The hotel was clean and quiet off of the main street. The rooms are on the top two floors of the building. Double rooms can be made into triples with an extra bed. Staff was helpful and friendly.
“Almost got cheated of 300 Euro by the staff.”
+We were charged 360 Euro in local currency for one night instead of 36 Euro. Luckily we checked the online currency calculator to find the error, but the desk clerk claimed he was right; 46000 Leke. He finally gave up. The bathrooms are tiny and stupidly organized; when you sit on the toilet you can't stand up because the wash sink is directly ABOVE the toilet... you will have to see for yourself. The light switch is not by the door, rather it is hidden behind the closet BEHIND the door. The surrounding is very filthy, yet no worse than the major part of Durres which we will never visit again. Still, the VALUE of this hotel is OK, as long as you have very low expectations. If you're lucky you could come across the owners son who is fluent in English.
“Nice hotel located right next to the beach”
+The hotel is located only a few minutes from the beach, many restaurants and small shops. The room was pretty big and sufficiently furnished. The staff was as helpful and kind as humanly possible and they made everything they could to make us feel good there, providing information on where to go and what to do, inviting us for coffee and letting us taste their home brewed beer. It is a family run business which adds to the welcoming feeling you get when arriving there. Although I wouldn’t recommend the city if you’re not into crowded places (including the beaches) and touristic restaurants, the old town is nice to visit (6km away - EUR 5.- for a taxi) and if you have a car, there are nice quiet beaches only about 15-20km away. And a trip to Tirana (40minutes away) is very easy to do and worth it ! The only thing that could be improved is to add AC because it was so warm we had to sleep with the window open and because of the train honking every time it passes, the stray dogs howling all night and the roosters yelling since 5am, it was a bit hard to get a full night of sleep. ;) Would definitely recommend staying in Albion hotel if you go to Durres.

8.0“Billigt men også derefter.”
+Sparsommeligt værelse. Dårlig service til morgenmad. Flinke værter. Manglede pengeskab. Tvivlsom aircondition. Havde været utilfreds hvis prisen havde været højere
“Durres, Albania”
“A really bad experience without seeing the hotel”
+I booked a room for two persons about two weeks before arrival. I chose this hotel as it seemed to have all conveniences. Two days before the actual night I received an e-mail from the hotel if we still planned to go there. I answered "Yes". One day before the booked day I received another e-mail informing me that they were receiving a group and our room was given to them. We were offered an apartment somewhere in the city instead of the hotel room. As a compensation they offered us four cups of beer and a glass of wine... I refused it and immediately searched for another accommodation. On the evening of the day when we were originally booked to I have received an e-mail at 7:30PM from them that they still can provide us a room. They sent another e-mail apologising for the inconveniences the next day. I have never heard about such a harsh and unpolite way of handling customers / hotel guests.

2.0“Verstecktes Hotel / Motel Sehr schwehr mir navi”
“For the money not a bad little hotel”
+The hotel was not bad but the city is just so miserable that the negative vibes affect one in one's evaluation of the hotel as well .Outside the hotel entrance there was a steady number of stray dogs ,a regular sight at Durres .Once you stepped out into the street there was garbage everywhere and a general feeling of a town simply left to rot

6.0“poor hotel, needs an overhaul”
+Hotel room was ok but not worth the price I paid for it. Room had a balcony with nice views but very basic other than that. Shower and air con did not work. The beach nearby was a private one but wasn't informed. Close to bus service into the towns centre.

2.0“A fuir”
