“Great spot but poor management.”
+Location was great, close to the heart of the old town. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Balcony looking on to the old city wall was nice. However, the bed had no top sheet - just a bottom sheet and a blanket. We tried to get a sheet of one of the bunk beds, but it was dirty and smelly. Staff provided a top sheet when asked and we fitted it ourselves. There were no tea or coffee making facilities anywhere. The TV had no channels at all, so was purely for decoration.

+Traditional old building right in the heart of the old town. A bit run down but a good functional place to stay.

“Passover holiday”
+We stayed at the Akko Gate Hostel during the generally packed Passover holiday. The staff was very friendly and helped with everything we needed. The room was spacious, but pretty basic with minimum amenities (no towels or soap for example). It did have a great balcony overlooking the street. The location is in the old city which makes the hotel close to everything, but that comes at the price of a noisy environment (in our opinion, well worth it). Overall, I recommend staying here.
