“Perfect location for visiting Chester.”
+Excellent location! Close to the town centre and the racecourse.
−At £20 a night car parking is expensive. Otherwise for a modern hotel it’s good.

“Bang average”
+Good location
−The tv was horrendous. Dated back to 1945. The WiFi signal was also really bad.

“Great location with friendly and accommodating staff”
+Great location for Chester City and the Racecourse. The room was large and comfortable and was cleaned to a good standard everyday.
−The bathroom is very open plan in the room. This is OK for some guest but if you like a bath in private then best to stop in another hotel

“Good clean comfortable hotel at a good price.”
+Very clean comfortable room. Good view over the racecourse. Very helpful staff, especially Imogen whose recommendations for things to do were very informative.
−Nothing

“Beware of the extras bumping the cost of a stay up.”
+Modern building in great location.
−High cost for car parking. Breakfast was disappointing. Continental breakfast should be a buffet not a “pay for each item” system. Bathroom shower screen was too short meaning floor got soaked. Very expensive drinks.

“Loved it and would recommend”
+It felt superior
−Extra charges for parking and cooked breakfast and a very warm restaurant for breakfast

“Very polite and helpful staff, but diabolical and overpriced hotel.”
+Staff were all excellent. Myself and my partner are both elderly. There was nobody to assist with our luggage; arriving or leaving. No information on hotel or local amenities in the room. No menu's in the room. When drinking/dining, I could not add cost to my room and had to pay as I used them. Breakfast menu's very complicated. No instructions for use of TV/remote. Bathroom supplies; soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers are very poor quality and difficult to use. I was also informed prior to booking, that Sky Sports channels were available in every room, which they are not.
−See above. Having stayed at hotels worldwide, ranging from Russian B&B'S, through to The Manhattan Waldorf Astoria, the Abode in Chester is by far, the worst value for money I have come across. I will never stay there again, nor recommend to family and friends.
