“Problems getting in but otherwise a comfortable stay and good value”
+Clean and comfortable. Close to bars and restaurants.
−Was a little noisy and curtain was very thin so allowed early daylight in. The worst thing was the convoluted self-check-in system. I had the check-in code and operational details on my phone. When I arrived there was no phone signal. Message near door said I was entitled to use Wi-Fi but I needed a code to do that. An alternative was to key in my name and booking reference and email address and that would give me an access code - but this didn’t work. Very fortunately, a kind guy on reception was able to help me. I got to my room door with the code and the battery on the keypad needed changing. Fortunately, reception guy was still there so he was able to change batteries. Finally, the keypad is so sensitive, you need a very steady hand. Technology is great when it works but there are several points of failure with this check-in process

+I really liked the self check-in , I found it really easy to use and straightforward. The public seating area was a nice feature, especially with the fire going, and there were lots of board games available to use. The location was also great, with shops and pubs all within easy walking distance.
−The fridge in my room made a constant buzzing sound throughout the night, which kept waking me up as I’m a light sleeper. The bathroom fan also made a really unpleasant noise when the light was turned on. I had a look at it, and it seemed like it could benefit from a really good clean to remove the dust, which may make a big difference to the noise.

“A cosy old school motel”
+I’m it was great value for money. The lounge and drying room were great and we enjoyed using the spa and sauna. The kids loved it! Convenient location and comfy beds. Board games and tv in the lounge were awesome.
−The check-in was a bit confusing, particularly knowing where to go and where to park. Others who arrived also were unclear about what to do! Our room was mostly clean, although the shared areas of the lodge could have been cleaner. For the price, though, it was reasonable. A hairdryer in the room or lodge would also have been a useful addition.

−Not much in the way of off-road parking, the room was not ready at 2 o'clock and the walls are very thin, so you can hear everything from the nextvroom.

“Good value for money & fine as a ski holday base for a few nights.”
+Location & price great. Rooms super clean.
−Bed comfort and sound insulation between rooms left a lot to be desired.
