“Disappointing, but lovely views.”
+My room was stunning, the balcony and view was excellent. The breakfast was good too. The one member of staff was as helpful as he could be. Lara their Tuk Tuk driver was very good too, he speaks good English and is really helpful, caring and honest.
−I was so disappointed that there was only one member of staff for my stay. The one guy was amazing and had to be the receptionist, the cleaner, and the waiter. It was absolutely crazy. Sometimes I’d wait for half an hour to an hour to be served at busy times. The poor guy had to do so much. I’m not sure why the owners think this is ok?? I don’t feel they’re treating their member of staff fairly at all and impacts on customer service. My score for customer service was high for all the work he did on his own. Overall, I’ve scored that is unacceptable. The food in the evening was really bad too and get the impression this is not a professional cook - I feel there was an issue with staffing for sure.

“Overall relaxing place to stay with great staff, food, pool and views”
+Lovely rooms and great views over Kandy. Great pool. Meals were really tasty and filling. The staff were friendly and helpful. The local tuk tuk driver, chap called Lara, was really helpful dropping us around places, with plenty of fun chat.
−It’s was bit more expensive than others.

+I enjoyed my stay at 88th Hanthana that I stayed for an extra night. The views are exquisite and the surrounding nature beautiful and peaceful. The manager Uditha was very helpful and kind. I asked for a Sri Lankan breakfast instead of Western and the team made milk rice, coconut roti, pol symbol and dahl personally for me. The tuk tuk driver called Lara linked to the hotel was wonderful and very reliable. I highly recommend 88th Hanthana. It is a peaceful haven and only 10/15 minutes in a vehicle from the centre of Kandy.

“Amazing place”
+Very nice and quiet accommodation with an amazing view. The staff was very nice. Special thanks to Sanjeewa who was very willing to do anything for us. He was always smiling and was also very nice in the evening. The breakfast was rich and tasty. The pool was clean. There is also a dog who is very friendly. This is very good place to relax. We would love to come back here!

“Amazing place with the best views and helpful staff, super clean and comfortable.”
+Amazing place, super clean and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make our family comfortable, including late night snack upon arrival, laundry, refreshments, or special requests for the kids for breakfast. The Lankan buffet dinner is amazing. We also loved the various juices we were offered that went beyond the usual suspects and introduced us to some local superfoods. The kids loved the dog and the pool and we loved the views.

“Great views and friendly staff”
+The hotel is very high on the hill above Kandy and a 15 minute Tuktuk ride into the city, we loved the view, particularly from the infinity pool. The staff were all incredibly helpful and kind, they brought us a drink on arrival and even another one when we were in the pool. We were the only guests during our two night stay which did mean the hotel was very quiet. The staff arranged a brilliant Tuktuk driver for us, who was so good we used him for a tour the next day. Ask for Lara and you will be in very good hands! Angie to hotel dog was always around and lovely too.
−The dining area is in the hotel lobby so not the most inviting. It would be nice to have some Sri Lankan breakfast options rather than just western.

“Incredible views , quality accommodation and friendly staff.”
+This boutique hotel as amazing. The views overlooking Kandy were out of this world, the hotel itself has just been renovated and finished to a very high standard. We had a large room with a massive balcony. Finally the staff were so friendly and helpful, and accommodated our every request. They made a great experience , amazing !

“Pool with a view”
+Our favourite part of our stay was our morning swim whilst enjoying the view. The staff were amazing and could not do enough. We were also greeted every morning by the friendly pet dogs who always appreciate a cuddle from a stranger🥰
−Nothing...but good to note that it's a steep drive to get to the property it comes with the territory of enjoying the views.

+An amazing place if you truly want to enjoy the peace of nature and a fantastic view from your window, both in the morning and in the evening. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful - truly 11 out of 10. A special mention to a young man named Ruwan, who was so attentive and caring. The hotel has a dog named Angie, who made us happy every time we met her. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, served on a beautifully set table. The pool is clean and offers a stunning view of the mountains. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are in Kandy.
