3.0+Terrible place to stay, even with a car. Adela, the owner, was nice, but I had no idea it wasn't an inn or hotel. I was in a room about 7×10 in this old lady's house with a bathroom down some treacherous stairs. It made using the bathroom in the night a potential ankle, leg or neck break a possibility. The location is terrible and is difficult to find with a small address number on the wall of the building. I think she's trying to hide the business she runs so as not to make the neighbors aware. Whatever I paid was not I t w I think it. But if you are a compassionate person and want to help a sweet lady out, please go ahead. It will make you feel good.

5.0“Glad I didn’t have to be there long. Would not go again.”
+The room and other shared areas were clean and in tact. When I enquired about places nearby to get breakfast, and found they were well away from the property, my host did leave me a croissant and fruit.
−The room was very small and cluttered. The ‘double’ bed was the smallest I’ve ever seen. Drawers were full of the owner’s things, so nowhere to unpack. Very short hanging space from an airing rack. Outlook was over built up areas. Most problematical was that the only shared bathroom and toilet were downstairs, and there were other ( male) guests on both nights. Tea and coffee was brewed on the landing, not in the room, and filling the kettle and water jug involved a trip to the bathroom. No milk provided of any kind. Area was built up residential, with no eating options in easy walking distance without a car, especially difficult in bad weather. When I arrived, the host was outside, having locked herself out. I waited while she went to find a neighbour with a ladder who climbed into an upstairs window and let us in. I was then left standing in the hall with my suitcase while she chased after the neighbour to give him a bottle of wine. When she returned, I was asked how old I was and told she had to go in the car to Tesco pharmacy for medication because I was later arriving than I’d estimated ( due to a traffic accident on the motorway) so Boots was shut! Bizzarre.

7.0“The room perfectly suited my needs - a comfortable stay near St Cross, with easy access and parking.”
+Convenient, simple and comfortable.
−Some milk sachets for the tea/coffee, and a teaspoon to stir in the sugar would have helped.

+The situation was great for me because my daughter lives quite close to it.
−The double bedroom was quite small and the bedding was not extremely confortable.
