“Isolated beach and birding paradise”
+Shizuka and her goat Pong were generous and kind hosts. Shizuka gave us lots of information about what to see and invited us to join in on a local Halloween with the 20 village children. The room is lovely with a wonderful deck and chairs facing a beautiful garden full of birds! The kitchen and bathroom are spotless and well equipped. They are located on the other side of the garage from the room. The location is a birders paradise. Each morning we would walk out before dawn to the hoots of the Ryukyu Scops owl and Northern Boobook. As the light came up the fruit bats and a cloud of other small bats were active. The shore is full of beautiful cove beaches- two are easy short walks away. We snorkeled of the closest beach and saw many fish and some outcroppings of coral. Not like some spots, but we had the place to ourselves. Absolutely beautiful. Shizuka made our stay at an already magical place even better. We felt welcomed as family. We want to return.

+This is a special stay accommodated by Shizuka: an exceptional host. We weren't very sure what to expect with this listing and Ishigaki, but are so glad we booked this stay. Ishigaki is a very small and local-oriented island, so having a well-connected expert there to make your stay special was so valuable. Here are a few notes I think folks might find valuable going in: Ishigaki is a small, beautiful island - this area is particularly beautiful, but also far from most towns and amenities like groceries and shopping. Shizuka is the best host we've ever had and is a truly authentic soul. She maintained our towels/linens, treated us with fresh fruit and snacks and left stunning flowers for us every morning by our room. Her and Pon (the goat) make this stay truly unique and special. It feels like you're a part of the local community through the duration of your stay. The layout was simple and everything that we needed. While Shizuka stays on the upper floor of the home, it's entirely separate from the downstairs areas that have a lovely room, patio, combined kitchen area and restroom/shower. The restroom/shower are disconnected but we felt no issues with privacy throughout our stay. G

+Here you stay in an apartement with fantastic terrace i an incredible jungle/ garden full with flowers and birds. Still you have air condition, wifi, the possibility of doing your own grill and more. Shizuka and the goat Pon take care of you in all possible way. Shizuka speaks English fluently and can give you all possible information on Nosoko and the Ishigaki island. Very close there are fantastic beaches with no people and very good restaurants. This place is a real jewel.
−Little walk (a few meters) to get to the bathroom, that is yours but has an own entrance. Anyhow very clean and nice. All the place is simple but cozy and well kept.

“Memorable experience in nature”
+My favorite thing was that it was an experience and not just a place to sleep. The place is surrounded by nature, very green, the beach(es) are nearby and the area is sooo peaceful ☺️ at the same time I didn’t miss any comforts, the kitchen is really good, bed is comfy, airco works perfectly. Shizuka really made me feel welcomed and gave me the best tips to explore the island. She left fresh flowers every day and treated me to some local specialties. Not to mention she took me on a little excursion. Great for longer stays for sure.

+I can’t recommend this enough. We truly loved our stay at Shizukas place. The location is perfect, there are some restaurants in walking distance and a wonderful (private) beach, with just no other people around. The patio and the garden are so tranquil and peaceful, the perfect place to calm down and relax. Nevertheless, the most amazing about this place is Shizuka and her welcoming and kind hospitality. She made our Ishigaki trip the most special. During check in she shares lot of helpful information, so there is no need to stress about anything. She gave us great recommendations and made our dinner reservations. To enjoy Ishigaki to the fullest, it’s advisable to rent a car!

“A small slice of paradise”
+Shizuka’s place is secluded, away from any hustle and bustle, and offers everything required for a relaxing stay. The amenities are simple but more than sufficient, and it is really the location and the host herself who make this such an exceptional stay. There is a private beach a few minute walk from the property with the most beautiful sunsets. Shizuka made us feel so very welcome, she was extremely friendly and we loved meeting her goats! There are several cute restaurants within walking distance. We strongly recommend this place to anyone who likes to travel off the beaten path - we had a wonderful time!

+Wat een zalig verblijf, we voelden ons helemaal thuis. Deze ervaring heeft onze vakantie helemaal gemaakt! Shizuka de host was fantastisch voor ons en haar buddy geit Pón was de allerliefste. Een echte hidden gem 👌🏼
