“So bad.”
+Let me think… Nope. Nothing. It was so bad.
−So bad. Probably the worst place I stayed in my extensive travelling life… Dirty, moldy, no sheets for the bed (just an old and questionable cover), no really shower, just a hose connected to the sink (see picture) tiny shower towel available, absolutely no instructions in English for everything that needs to be set by the guest (hot water, etc.), air conditioning not working, bad bed, etc. No information received about the check-in process. Hopefully, there was others guests around when I arrived and they helped me to contact the owner. Despite the very bad situation, I decided to stay because it was late; otherwise I would left to find another place to stay that night, even if it was already paid. Honestly, I cannot understand the positive reviews on Booking.com. $55 down the drain for me.

+Hotel perfectly situated for visiting Andong vicinities when you don't have a car. It's just 5 min walk by foot from the bus or train station, and all the buses which stop at the different tourist places. The area is quiet, near the river with lots of vegetable gardens and small houses. The room is clean, all necessary stuff is provided. There are water dispensers and microwave at every floor, except at the 5th. The check-in time is 2 pm which is good compared to other places. Next morning I had to catch the 6 am train and the hotel being so close to the station it's very convenient and also important as at that time it's still dark I felt secure walking in the area.
−Although I was told I can leave my luggage before the check-in, it was not possible, as one needs a digital code to enter the hotel, which I did not have when I arrived in the morning. An advance information about how to enter the hotel (even telling you that the codes will be provided just before check-in) would have been appreciated. There was nobody in the hotel or around to be contacted or asked how/what to do. When I came back at check-in time, just after 2pm my entry instructions were scotched at the front door, without letting me know that they will be provided in such a way, My room was on the last 5th floor, when reaching it I thought I was at the servants floor...and hesitated for a second, thinking I missed something. The hotel looked rather empty, yet I was on the floor with other people who seemed to live there and who made noise until 10 pm making their usual life, and kitchen being at the same floor. The appliances (microwave, gaz oven,etc) in the kitchen were not clean.

“Better than expected.”
+Close to train and bus terminals. It is a futon on the floor when time to sleep, but it was comfortable. Floor heating is cosy. Free use of washing machine, powder and drying rack provided. Windows open to outside. Owner was helpful and provided self check in instructions. Kitchenette allows cooking. Daily housekeeping.
−Small details - a pot and some cutlery wasn’t washed cleanly, no common area with rest of hostel.

+De locatie is top! Vlakbij de express en publieke busterminal en het station van Andong
−Helaas voelt de kamer die wij hadden wat benauwend aan, er zit een raam in dat meteen tegen een aangrenzend gebouw aankijkt op nog geen meter afstand, dat voelt erg benauwend omdat er hierdoor geen daglicht in de kamer is en geen uitzicht.
