“If you are prepared to wait 35 minutes for a company invoice, this is the hotel for you”
−Before breakfast, I went to reception to pay for four rooms with breakfast and request an invoice addressed to my company. I was told that payment was not possible until all guests had checked out. I therefore provided all the company details and guests’ names in advance and asked for the invoice to be prepared so we could check out and leave after breakfast. When I returned to reception at 8:00 a.m., nobody knew anything about my earlier request or the details I had provided. What followed was a 35-minute wait for an invoice covering four rooms. Two staff members were working at reception. The employee preparing the invoice needed almost continuous assistance from his colleague, who kept moving between his desk and her own while also serving other guests. This continued for around twenty minutes until I raised my voice and asked her to take over and resolve the situation. I finally left the hotel at 8:35 a.m. I understand that mistakes happen, but spending 35 minutes waiting for an invoice, despite providing all the necessary information in advance, is unacceptable. This is particularly frustrating for business travellers whose departure times matter. A note to future guests: if y
