“Lovely stay, thank you!”
+Much better than expected. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Everything you could need for a short stay. Plenty of space and very welcoming hosts (even despite the rude greeting from my dog on arrival!) Wish I'd booked for longer!
−Slightly warm at night but that's personal preference, was super cozy. Could hear road noise but to be expected.

“Well supplied and excellent value”
+Everything I look for at an accommodation was supplied at The Stables. Lots of thoughtful touches, like iron and ironing board in the room, bottled water in the fridge, kettle, tea and coffee
−Two small problems, the door lock was loose as was the toilet seat. But they were really minor inconveniences

+The breakfast was lovely. Great value for money well served excellently by the host. The location was brilliant for walking the dog. Evening meal at the pub was great value at a really good price. Everything you could possibly need in the room including a fridge & microwave. Great ensuite. Nice having pub attached so able eat without having to leave the property.
−The two single beds were slightly narrow.

“Wonderful place, exceptional hosts”
+Very easy to get settled in, had everything I needed & more! Very helpful & accomodating with all questions I asked. Food served till 8pm (some info provided in the room would be good though!) & reasonably priced
−Neighbours (travelling) with a very noisy dog. Car parking was manageable but far from ideal, the back street seemed to be a better spot if you needed to load/unload. Food waste bags or info would have been helpful for those of us with longer stays (I used bathroom bin as it had a lid)

“A perfect stay in comfortable surroundings”
+The Stables were perfect for us to return to after 3 busy days working at our daughter’s new home. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the shower excellent with lots of hot water. (Plus wonderfully aromatic toiletries). The kitchen facilities provided were all that we needed to enable us to get up and crack on again each day, and one of the main reasons for our booking. We ate in the pub one night too, the food was great and the staff welcoming and friendly.

“Exceptional , value for money , courtesy , helpfulness and just a lovey warm and friendly stay just”
+Everything this was such a wonderful trip made more special by the attention to detail the very warm welcome and fabulous owners and staff . The room was clean well appointed , safe and spacious . The pub next door was so friendly and the food excellent , portions huge, fresh and breakfast the same . Although being hosts for many years the courtesy , welcome and helpfulness throughout our trip felt made us feel special . We are returning just before Xmas to see family again and we wouldn’t stay any where else . The added bonus is ease of access to Durham and surrounds . Thank you all so much
