“Our family and friends loved the cozy stone cottage and wanted to stay longer!”
+It was amazing to arrive on a dark and rainy evening and find the house warm and welcoming. Mary greeted us at the door with the lights all on and a fire on the heating stove, warming up the rooms. It felt like coming “home.” It was a sharp contrast to other rental properties where you have to fiddle with a lock box in the dark with the torch on your phone. Mary was extremely organized and helpful, always answering promptly and providing lots of local information. If you’re planning to go to Lough Key, you really can’t beat this location. We also visited an alpaca farm and walked around Carrick-on-Shannon, both easily accessible from here. The house itself is super cute, but also historic. It’s a cozy stone cottage. My kids loved it and asked, “can we live here now?” There’s a nice upstairs loft area with a shared bathroom for the kids in between the two upstairs rooms. Mary had also left some toys and books there. The kitchen was well stocked with a lovely espresso machine, a full dishwasher, and even fresh scones baked by Mary’s mother. We did a couple loads of wash before the next leg of our trip and there was a drying rack waiting for us in the closet. My kids also loved the co
−I can’t really think of anything negative other than it’s a little hard to turn off the main road into the narrow driveway of the property, because cars are going quite fast on the main road. But that’s very minor.

+Our stay in The Nurseries was just beautiful. I was with my elderly parents and my sister. From the moment you drive up to the house it feels like a home. The inviting exterior and beautiful surroundings hook you in. Mary met us to show us everything and even had the fire lit and fresh scones and a hamper of treats for our stay. The whole house is so tastefully decorated and lovely and warm. The beds were so comfortable and the bedroom and en suite downstairs was great for my parents. We had a cosy fire in the stove in the evenings and even had a game of scrabble. I loved the dining room which looked out onto the fields. We all loved it so much we have booked it for Sept again. It's like a home from home. Thank you Mary and Brian for this first class home. Looking forward to many more visits. Ps. The waterfront restaurant in Coothall was our go to for food and was excellent.
