8.0“Fabulous location to enjoy the charms of a Whitstable”
+Location! General charm
−Steep stirs making top two bedrooms almost inaccessible Lack of second proper bathroom Living room could do with an extra armchair/small sofa

7.0“Can’t return because of the stairs”
+Location was brilliant
−When making a booking one should be warned about the upper staircase as it is very dangerous and should be qualified as a health risk. We had to change our sleeping plans as 2 guests could not get up them. Unfortunate issue with electricity tripping but that will be sorted out

7.0“A great location but property is a little tired”
+Great location and lovely views. Lovely to be on the porch listening to the waves and watching the world go by or able to be on the beach with a coffee, and the dogs, first thing. Decor is nice and in keeping with the area and age of building. Not so many house rules and great that the dogs can come!
−The shower needs investment, it really is on its last legs and given the price of the property, ought to be of a much better standard. Blinds are also broken in numerous places, meaning it’s hard to actually keep the light out in the mornings. Beds are on the softer side, we left with sore / aching backs after a few days. Everything that has been said elsewhere about the two top bedrooms is true. They really are difficult to access and there’s no way you could pull a suitcase up etc, meaning you’re all living out of two bedrooms.

8.0“Great property, will definitely visit again”
+Amazing sea front location with great views from kitchen and living room. Right in the heart of Whitstable Main bedroom is a lovely large room overlooking the sea
−Second floor bedrooms are up extremely steep stairs. Other than that the property is superb.

6.0“excellent, but with reservations over suitability for disabled guests.”
+The location. the conservatory overlooking the sea.
−the disability lift didn’t work until rectified. the boiler had a leak and the hot water and heating therefore didn’t work until the boiler man came the following day. there are not 2 bathrooms, but one shower room and one toilet with no disability access to a bathroom, although this is listed as a disability friendly property. the stairs to the top floor were so steep as to be accessible only to fit and agile guests. the duvet on the top floor was not big enough for the bed. the free parking in the area is very difficult to come by so that we had to pay to park for our disability van locally.

7.0“Interesting house in a great location”
+The Ness is a lovely old house that stands right on the beach in Whitstable. The location was ideal for our family holiday because everything we needed was right on our doorstep. The views across the estuary were interesting, the sunsets were lovely, and it was a great place for people-watching. The house was furnished with many interesting antiques, the living areas were comfortable, and it was well-equipped. The hosts were very responsive to our questions and requests. They provided lots of things for young children, including a travel cot, a high chair, a baby bath, stair gates, and a selection of books and toys.
−We were a party of five adults, plus a baby and a toddler. The two top bedrooms are almost unusable for adults because of their size, and they are too dangerous for small children because of the incredibly steep staircase and narrow steps. We had to improvise a stair gate up on the top landing to protect the toddler because the grandparents could not make it up those steps. The description should have a health and safety warning about these rooms because they are really only suitable for teenagers. The kitchen was well-equipped, but it was awkward to use and not very clean (especially the dishes and glassware). There was no place to store our groceries, so they remained piled on the very small worktops, leaving us very little space to prepare meals.

10.0“Beautiful Whitstable”
+Location! On the beach. Beautiful old house, well equipped kitchen. Hosts made us feel welcome, milk and prosecco in the fridge, tea, coffee. Beds super comfy.
−Very steep stairs to attic rooms just for awareness.
