“Nice stay on a farm but could do with some redecoration”
+Being on the farm was lovely for my daughter who enjoyed visiting the sheep, cows and chickens. Close proximity to Durham too.
−There is a strong musty smell in the property, particularly in the main bathroom. The furnishings and decor are also tired. Our visit also coincided with the arrival of 13 new cows who were mooing throughout the night during one of the nights, which led to very disrupted sleep (they were much quieter other nights, so I think it was a one-off)

“A lovely relaxing break.”
+The property was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The location was nice and quiet with lovely views. Durham centre was easily accessible - just a short drive. Basics such as tea, coffee, cooking oil, toilet rolls, soap were all supplied including half a dozen fresh farm eggs and a lovely home made honey and walnut cake - still warm to the touch when we arrived. Our host was very helpful and responsive to any queries.

“We'll be back!”
+Lovely welcome, thank you! Very spacious, well equipped house with super views across the valley. Cows, swallows and a hare for company when walking down towards the river. Great location for exploring Durham and County Durham generally.

+There was loads of space and the views out to the surrounding countryside are lovely. Particularly enjoyed the wood-burning fire and the ease of getting down to the Lanchester Valley Way for easy walks. Hosts Caroline and Jon were away when we stayed but left lots of lovely extras including delicious homemade cake, and kept in contact to make sure we had everything we needed. We hope to get back again sometime.

“Wonderful stay in the countryside. Plenty to do with small children locally for a short stay.”
+Host was great and our grandchildren loved visiting the hens and the cows. The host went with our grandchildren to collect the eggs and gave them one each (on top of the fresh eggs already left for us along with the fresh homemade cake). Views were beautiful, cottage was warm with excellent heating. Host was very helpful suggesting somewhere suitable locally to eat.

“Amazing”
+Everything, the cottage was amazing. We couldn’t believe how big it was. Beds was super comfortable, we all slept well! The kids are already asking to come back!
