5.0“Off the beaten track but affordable”
+Location is fine, its off the beaten track, its not really as walkable as most other accommodations in Clarens as almost all the roads leading to the property are dirt/untarred roads. Beds and pillows were wonderful Wifi was good. Accommodation is value for money but better care could be taken. Coffee maker was a nice touch with the pods etc except that it hadn't been cleaned out properly so there was severe mould on the inside. We weren't going to take that risk and did our best to wash it anyway - needed to be bleached. Bigger coffee mugs would also be great. A proper fridge should be installed where the heater is currently and the heater moved, or an additional plug point installed for a fridge, the current fridge is a tiny bar fridge which cant even be opened properly due to the cupboard. Do not expect to bring food or drinks and it fit.
−We were unable to get out the property for almost 2 hours. Luckily we didn't have any specific plans so it was merely an inconvenience. But for anyone that had paid or specific plans it could have been disastrous and it doesn't seem like it is the first time according to other reviews. Owner needs to sort this out. In the 20 years of travel both in SA and abroad, I have never been stuck in a property until now. Fans or aircon are an absolute must and need to be installed, we went when it was still spring and the heat was stifling inside, we had to sleep with the windows open which wouldn't have been a problem if next door wasn't having an event. Seems as though the property is on the back of another estate, there was a huge party until 2am on Friday and like mentioned above if you have the windows open the noise travels. So we had to pick between dying of heat or not sleeping. Both of these issues would be resolved with fans or aircon. No scissors provided, so we had to make a plan to open the items we brought. Not disastrous but once again inconvenient.

9.0“Nice quiet location where we had a comfortable stay over a long weekend”
+Nice quiet location where we had a comfortable stay over a long weekend
−Perhaps the address information and/or correct location on Waze/Google Maps as these Apps did not take us directly to the hotel

9.0+I ended up in the bigger suite rather than the double room I'd booked. Bed was very comfortable, good internet and streaming support on the TV. Kitchen is small but functional for the most part. Great point to start walks from with the parkrun course being the other side of the garden. I'd happily stay here again!
−Not being sent the entry details prior to arriving. Fridge is very awkward to use with very limited useable space (a bag of carrots only just fitted on the second/top layer, under the freezer compartment but froze there. Meat had to be stored upright due to the door shelves). Sadly the roads to get here are not the best from town and driveway is not the easiest to get out of; I had to reverse up a steep driveway about 60° from where you park so if there is a second car there, it's a tight swing in a bakkie. Couch in the suite is more a spare bed so very deep and not the most comfortable. None of these affected my stay but are worth noting for others.

8.0+Value for money. Had asked for a fan to be in the room if no air conditioner. Hardly slept the first night as the mosquitoes wanted to carry me away so had to close all the windows bit was then very stuffy. Second night a fan appeared and I had a wonderful sleep.
−Isolated and not really views as the trees were blocking it from the Khaya.

10.0+Everything was just fine
−The host was not friendly, I wouldn't recommend that place to anyone. We booked our driver there and he couldn't put the key where he was supposed to but left the key regardless

9.0“Beautiful property. A well equipped, clean, and comfortable suite.”
+It was a really lovely suite, equipped with everything I needed. Great wifi. Lots of space, a comfortable bed, very nice towels. The property is beautiful and offers pretty good views of the area.
−It's just a bit far to walk to restaurants and shops - but it's a short drive.

7.0+Great location Large unit Lovely furnishings
−No heater so with snow falling on the mountains it was cold though the electric blanket provided a great night sleep
