−The check in time is late at 6 pm. There are bees inside the house when we were there.

“Lovely, quirky old home but unfortunately for us there were wasp in the house with us.”
+We had an unusual experience in that, the place had yellow jacket wasp inside that kept multiplying. I was stung and the rest of my party were so terrified they slept in the car outside. It wasnt the fault of tge hosts or anyone really but it made for a bad experience for us. The area was lovely and the house was a bit quirky but its old so that is part of the charm. If we didnt have to share with wasp, I think we could have really liked it.

“It was a nice and cozy villa for a short family”
+The villa was nice with all the facilities and amenities within walking distance. The facilities a right in the heart of some of the attractions.
−There were bit of water leakage outside the kitchen area that maybe used water from the kitchen or something.

“Large, comfortable and perfectly located cottage.”
+The location was great to explore the Isle of Skye. It is very close Fairy Glen, and it is easy to go to the Old Man of Storr and other highlights in Skye. Just before arriving, we read some reviews that described Sea Front Cottage as horrible and dirty, and incited people NOT to book. We were a bit worried when we stepped in. What I can say is that the house is really big, comfortable and there are two large bathrooms (first time we had two bathrooms for 6 people during our trip and that was great!) The bedrooms are also big, and the beds are very comfy. Yes, the outside is not clean, the weeds are growing everywhere, there are bits and bobs here and there (in the garden, in the pantry) but it has an amazing potential. I definitely recommend staying here, regardless of the negative reviews :) Just look at that view!

“Look past the exterior”
+Very nicely decorated inside & well equipped.
−The outside of the property really let it down. The sign for the property was barely visible, and it could do with a good paint. All the double glazing had blown so was full of condensation. The downstairs bathroom needs a non slip mat as the bath was difficult to get in & out of without slipping.

“Lots of potential but poorly managed”
+Great locarion.
−Front of cottage not inviting. needs painting and a gardener to come in and work on making this an enjoyable front garden that you would want to sit in. Interior needs a repaint on all woodwork. looks half finished. 80% of downlights in second tv room don't work. Shower room needs a new blind and radiator needs a repaint as is rusting. Also needs a repaint. Interior doors need replacing as they remind me of a miniciple building used for administrative/public services. Furniture looks cheap and each room is not comprehensively furnished. There was no wardrobe in the upstairs double bed. Two dining room chair is broken. Laminated flooring looks cheap. Utility room looks like it has been forgotten about and needs a complete refurb and redecorating. No pictures on the wall and walls need a fresh lick of paint. No standing lamps in living rooms. Cottage does not resemble the photos in the booking.com advertisment. Musty smell when we arrived. Cottage does not feel invested in and somewhat looked after on the cheap. Reminds me of a MOH that is rented out to students or young professionals who need to live in London on a starting salary.

+The location of the Sea Front Cottage was great - we used it as a base for our 4 days of traveling in the Isle of Skye. The cottage was roomy and spacious and had plenty of space for 5 adults. It is clear that they are in the midst of renovating the space and when it is finished, it will be great.
−Clearly still renovating - beds were not very comfortable. There were no trash cans in the rooms and the one bedroom with twin beds did not have a bedside table lamp. I think with a bit more renovation the place will be great - but it was not finished.

“Extrêmement déçu du logement”

−Le logement était infesté de guêpes, vivantes et mortes. Nous en avons tué des dizaines pendant notre séjour de 2 nuits. Toilettes quasiment bouchées, il fallait tirer la chasse au moins 4 ou 5 fois pour espérer vider la cuvette. Pas de lumière dans la salle de bain, rendant la pièce inutilisable dès la nuit tombée. Compte tenu du prix payé, l'état du logement est clairement inacceptable. Sans parler du fait que les propriétaires n'ont jamais répondu aux différentes sollicitations envoyées via l'application. Je déconseille largement de louer ce logement, alors que je ne suis habituellement pas très exigeant.
