“Only stayed 1 night, very disappointing”

−This property advertised air conditioning, which for us was a non negotiable for our 3 day stay in Rome. On arrival we were told that the room would cool over time however it did not get below 30 degrees according to our temperature gauge. Our host offered advice initially - the reduction of temperature made it cool temporarily but then just returned to air blowing. It was extremely uncomfortable so the next morning we asked our host to have it repaired but received very little communication and no resolution. We then left the property and booked an alternative, we been extremely disappointed that the property mislead us and we paid so much for somewhere we were unable to stay at. The host then told us

“Great location to all the best tourist sites”
+The aircon was great when the weather was still pretty warm (23c). It was so close to everything we wanted to see like the altar of the fathergods, the pantheon (was only a five minute walk away), with lots of restaurants around. Also we found out the ruins near to the place was where Julius Caesar died. We were also around a 30 minute walk from the Vatican City and the tourist spots in Trastevere.
−It was a little small, but for only two of us it was great value for money. The shower and toilet was in one room but after a full day of walking you want to sit down anywhere you can lol, so it didn’t bother us at all!

“We didn't stay because it was so bad”

−This was by far the worst accommodation experience I have ever had. Before arriving, I contacted the host multiple times through Booking.com and provided our arrival time on several occasions. Despite this, when we arrived we struggled to find the entrance and spent around 20 minutes calling the numbers provided, none of which were answered. Once we finally found the property, we were told nobody was there to let us in due to traffic. After travelling for 11 hours, we had to wait in a nearby café. We were eventually let in around 1.5 hours after check-in time. The apartment looked nothing like the photos. The listing showed a small but charming apartment with a separate bedroom and living area. In reality, it was dark, dirty, and poorly maintained. To make matters worse, we were told the apartment had not even been cleaned yet. The bedding was stained and dirty, there was broken glass on the wardrobe, the window was taped up and mouldy, the bathroom was unclean, and the overall condition of the property was unacceptable. “Perfekte Lage für Sightseeing”
+Die Lage ist sehr gut und es gab alles was man brauchte. Es war nur leider sehr heiß und die Klimaanlage hat es leider nicht geschafft, die Wohnung runter zu kühlen.
