+Big and comfortable house. Great location.
−The check in and the property are in different places. It is not comfortable when you are with suitcases. It is impossible to store the luggage in the property after the check out time.

“We will stay here again. We enjoyed the property.”
+The house is charming. Love the traditional Japanese architecture and the tatami mat flooring.
−Needed is a heater for each room. We stayed here during a very bad snow storm in January 2026.

“Comfortable stay in very convenient location. Somewhat modernized machiya house, but we liked it.”
+Tabine has many properties and has an office at the convenient location. Host let us leave our luggage in the office until the place was ready. He was very nice and quick to respond to my inquiry about luggage drop off. We went to explore the city and later pick up the key from the office( or code, I cannot remember) and we checked in. The first one was traditional and beautiful house. However, it has a strong smell-possibly dog or cat pee. We complained and the host was very responsive and kind. He let us change the place ( no smell) and even give us a ride to a new house. We really liked the second place and were very touched by his kindness and professionalism. For other travelers, if you are not traveling with pets, make sure that the house you rent does not allow pets. Another thing, even though this is not deal breaker, one of our friend has bad knee and had difficulty sitting on the floor. If you prefer to have chairs in the dining room or any other place, make sure of that as well.

“Pretty little house. Really old”
+Very traditional
−Te bathroom smells TERRIBLE. It was the combined smell of a thousand cheese flavored instant noodles with garbage

+The house is very large and welcoming. Well clean and with all the services. Style is its strong point, I would go back for a few more days.
−Check in is too late

“Bella casa, proprio dietro il castello di Kanazawa, con due stanze al piano superiore. Parcheggio comodo.”

+The room, while authentically traditional and spacious, presented several disappointments. The bathrooms and rooms lacked proper ventilation, resulting in a noticeable moldy odor. Opening windows for fresh air was not feasible due to the presence of insects. The kitchen facilities were quite minimal, and the absence of air conditioning in the main bedroom made it challenging to sleep comfortably during July and August. Furthermore, the check-in process required traveling to an office located a considerable distance from the apartment. In summary, I cannot recommend this accommodation.
