“Nice apartment near the beaches”
+Kerry and Brad are wonderful hosts, very helpful and always happy to provide suggestions for exploring the area. They even took us to local events, for which we are very grateful. The apartment is excellently equipped, with a spacious open-plan kitchen and living area. The bed is outstanding; we slept very well during our one-month stay, and it is very quiet both inside and around the house. The location is perfect for us: close to the beach and very near a bus stop, with a bus that takes you to a large shopping centre in just 6 minutes. There are also several cafés and restaurants within walking distance. We can highly recommend this accommodation and will definitely book here again the next time we visit Perth.

“Average at best.”

−No guest service. Not even coffee or tea sachets - very old kitchenware - no bin service - blankets and pillows need replacing - owner onsite allows te dog to bark loudly from 5am in the morning so forget about resting. I came home very quietly in the middle of the night and as punishment the owner opened and slammed the doors above multiple times early in the morning - it is a timber framed property so you get to hear their movements all the time. Also the access to the property is down a slope wth multiple steps - not safe if you are elderly. Be prepared to pay extra over hotel price for less than average experience. TBH am frustrated that people get away with expecting paying guests to pay off their mortgage without providing a basic level of customer service.

“It was nice to be near the ocean, although I did not go down to the actual beach.”
+It was a handy suburb for me to drive to places I needed to visit. The bed was comfy. Glad to have air conditioning. Fridge was a good size.
−Access to the unit. The photo on the ad was misleading. It is a photo of access to the host’s front door, not the actual unit, which is located at the rear of the property and accessed via a steep outdoor descent involving many stairs. When it was clear that I could not easily use that route the host suggested I use the steep ramp on the other side of the house which had only 2 steps. It was very steep and there was no handrail. I had to use this ramp for the entire stay. There was no handrail on the other side of the house either. The pantry contained grocery items which had been left by other people. I threw away several spoiled items. There was no full length mirror in the unit. I had to purchase one for the duration of my stay, as well as a non-slip mat for the shower, as I did not feel safe. The kitchen tap leaked water and had to be replaced 1 week into my stay.
