10.0“Exactly as pictured, clean and comfortable and we found it very quiet. So close to the airport train!”
+Exactly as pictured, clean and comfortable and we found it very quiet. So close to the airport train! Lots of useful details in the kitchen etc. Yes it’s a basement so might be tough if very tall, but I’m 5 11 and fit in the shower fine. The area is not the nicest but at the same time we were out all times and had no confrontations. I get the sense a lot of people complaining about the area in the reviews have just never been to the poorer parts of a big city before. People are unlikely to bother you really, they are just minding their own business. Lots of nice families on the street that the actual house is on. It’s no luxury spot, but it was about $200 cheaper than anywhere else that was equally convenient and we were pleasantly surprised. Check in was easy, they sent us the door code etc.
−Nothing, it was good, I would stay again.

9.0“Convenient location for access to public transport”
+Convenient location near subway, trains ans buses. Quiet street. Toiletries including toothbrush and toothpaste, bathrobes.
−Maybe we didn't read into details but were surprised it was in a basement with only a.tiny window for fresh air. Steep steps down to the apartment and a steep step up to the bathroom were fine for us but might not be for everyone.

1.0“Accommodation nightmare. A not-very-clean windowless dungeon in a filthy slum-like neighbourhood.”
+The only positive about this stay was the proximity to airport shuttle.
−Neighbourhood; basement location; no windows; low ceiling everywhere and especially in the bathroom; dirty headboard and mirror in the bedroom; shower faucet falling apart; noisy family above and poor soundproofing.

5.0“Acceptable, but sadly better once I'd found a place that I was more comfortable in;”
+A little problem with the code for the door was sorted thanks to the helpful neighbours Its a cosy little place to stay; BUT the area is sketchy and there is no sound proofing as unfortunatley a family lives above and EVERY sound carries; It was my own decision to quit early and look for somewhere I felt more comfortable; If your young and don;t mind sound at night or are as deal as a post this is ideal for you; It is in a very central location for Queens ( Jamaica) Good bus service and very close to shops & Subway; JFK airport link;
−The noise and immediate area; Jamaica isn't the best of places; But if you like to emerse yourself in what a real New York neighbourhood is like This is right up your street

10.0“Intercom Grounds made a delightful stay for us.”
+It was super clean, communicating with the host via email was very easy, and they were very nice. It had a wonderful kitchenette and table. They even provided a toaster as well as a first aid kit which we used. It had interesting books on the shelf to read. We also sat on the front .porch enjoying the sun and the next door neighbor's cute dog

8.0“Nice and busy area, shops and stations are not far.”
+It was very close to airport and shops were not far as well. No one disturbed us during stay. Very clean and bed was very comfortable.
−Bathroom was very tiny and if your height is above 5.8" then very difficult to have shower because ceiling is very low and you can't stand up properly. 1-2 steps should be made to go to bathroom because it is 1.5 feet high from room floor.

6.0“A modest place to stay...”
+The location is quite convenient for access to transportation (bus, LIRR train and subway), literally 5 minutes walk to Sutphin Terminal. There were nice little amenities like a microwave, a toaster and even an umbrella. And leaving fresh toothbrushes and toothpaste for the guests was thoughtful. Also, having hand soap, bodywash, shampoo and conditioner all available similar to resort-style hotels was a nice touch as well.
−It isn't in the best of areas...but we were spending all our time in other parts of NYC. However, returning in the evenings was a sketchy experience. Thankfully there is decent police presence around the neighbourhood. Many people have mentioned that it is in a basement apartment, which was okay. However, waking up to the thumping of a small child running around above you every morning was less and desirable. The ceiling is very low, especially in the bathroom. If you are over 5'8" tall this place will not be a good fit for you....literally.

5.0+Great shower pressure, super comfy bed, great iron and toaster. Host was wonderful to communicate with.
−Such a small space with low ceilings. Neighborhood was a bit sketchy, although everyone I spoke to was really kind.
