“Absolutely no complaints - lovely apartment, great location, host was very happy to help and answer any questions 10/”
+Really good location in Mestre, very quick walk to the bus which is 10 minutes into Venice. Also walking distance to the train station, mcdonald’s, spar and other shops.

“I do not recommend it, I felt cheated”
+It was clean. Booking.com's customer service department handled our complaint in a correct and professional manner.
−It's on the second floor of a building with no elevator. The single bed is small and uncomfortable. The booking.com reservation was for a two-bedroom apartment for two people. The owner demanded cash (in addition to the tourist tax) to use the second bedroom. Despite us showing him the booking.com reservation, which specified that it was two bedrooms for two people, he told us he didn't care what was written in the booking.com reservation and demanded more money, which we ultimately had to give him because he wouldn't address our complaint.

“Great place to stay to visit Venice”
+The owner was waiting to hand us over the keys and show us where we could park (no cost). It is a residential area, but not too noisy. The apartment was spacious and well-equipped. It was clean and there are supermarkets (huge InterSpar right in front with a McDonald´s) and restaurants near by. To get to Venice you take the bus (1.50 euros if you buy the tickets at the tobacconist or 3 euros if you buy them on the bus) and in less than 15 minutes you are on the island. The tobacconists open very early (6 or 7 am) but close at midday, so get the tickets in the morning. We took a walk to the centre of Mestre and saw the main plaza and it was lovely. I would definitely stay here again if I go to Venice as it is much cheaper than staying on the actual island and the bus takes you there in no time at all.
−You have to pay a "fee" for electricity which is 3 euros a day. It´s not a lot of money, but seems a bit ridiculous not to include it in the price of the apartment. There is no elevator. When we arrived we saw that there were three bottles of oil (for cooking), a box of detergent for the washing machine, etc. so we didn´t buy any. However, when we got back, we realized that two of the bottles were empty and we really weren´t sure what was in the other as it didn´t have a label. The detergent box was also empty. Obviously, these are extras provided by the owner, but it is a good idea to check they have something in them before going shopping. :)
