“A frustrating non event.”
−My booking got cancelled at the last minute due damage caused by an ingress of water, apparently due to heavy rain on the Saturday before I was due to stay. I had tried hard to contact the owner on the days beforehand to get access arrangements but despite calls, messages and emails, plus the intervention of Booking.com.I only managed to get through on the Monday before my booked stay on Tuesday. I was offered his alternative property but it wasn't suitable for my needs so had to find an alternative myself From other reveiws, late changes and cancellations sem to have happened before. The owner did seem pleasant when I spoke to him, but the lack of contact was very disappiounting and I would advise people to be wary of booking this accommodation. I wasn't going to leave a review (as I haven't actuially stayed there), but got so many reminders from booking.com that I gave in!

“Our stay was disappointing. avoid avoid avoid”
+Cancelled at short notice as with others avoid this is a scammer.
−We originally booked a weekend stay at Half Moon Bay, only for the host to cancel at short notice. After researching further, it appears this has happened to other guests previously, which was concerning. We were moved to Rose Cottage instead. Unfortunately, this was not a property we would have chosen ourselves. The listing photographs did not accurately reflect our experience. On arrival, after midnight, the cottage smelled strongly of soot and cigarette smoke. As it was so late, we felt we had little option but to stay. The cottage was located on a main road, making it much noisier than expected, and it became very hot during our stay. There was no Wi-Fi and no welcome information provided. We were also informed that the replacement property was cheaper than our original booking and were told the difference would be refunded in cash. Following our complaint, the owner offered a complimentary stay. However, this was subject to various conditions, including being restricted to non-holiday periods and only when availability allowed, which significantly reduced its value as a goodwill gesture. +The view. Wow. What a view. Fond memories at Heysham Head. Sheep in the field across didn’t spoil the view. Highlight was watching the fox walking down the middle of the road. Just sorry we didn’t see the 2 cubs.

“Could be great but needs a revamp”
+The location was beautiful overlooking the beach and a farmers field out in front filled with sheep and lambs.
−The cleanliness wasn't very good. Dead plant in the corner of the room. The condiments that were left for the house (vinegar and oil) were very tacky and covered in dust. The shower needs to be changed for new. Shower attachment doesn't allow for the height to be changed and the pressure wasn't ideal either.

“The views are phenomenal”
+The location was amazing for the views and access to the beach, the property let in a lot of natural light which was so beautiful! The host was very helpful and was 2 doors up for any issues, the cafe was delicious for food. The beds were very comfortable. Little shampoos available in the property and clean towels. Tea and coffee items.
−The neighbour guests above us were very loud, through the night and playing music in the morning. There were no baking trays big enough for a pizza, but other than that very beautiful.
