6.0“Very enjoyable weekend with family.”
+Location was excellent, ideal for local walks. The house was large enough for the 6 visitors however it would be restrictive if fully occupied by 8 guests. A great hot tub and nice spacious garden. Excellent takeaway from Happy Valley also great Sunday lunch at the black bull.
−In need of a little update with regards to the sofa which did not seat 6 people comfortably.

8.0“A perfect location for our walking group, offering a good standard of accommodation which was very clean and well kept”
+Clean, well maintained and tastefully decorated. Plenty of towels, crockery, glasses and kitchen utensils. Location on the Pennine Way and adjacent to an excellent brewery tap were perfect!
−The tin opener didn’t work. Welcome pack was basic. Fresh milk would have been better than UHT. Not enough T towels. Soap dispensers and hair and body products were either empty or very low.

7.0“Great cottage and beautifully placed but felt like a two up two down terrace extended upstairs to a accommodate more bed”
+It was in a beautiful area of Northumberland and the bedrooms were nice and spacious
−There were 6 adults btwn mid 50 to 70 years of age and the small sofa seating arrangement meant that only four of us could sit on comfortable seating at a time and the other two had to sit on dining room chairs! Not ideal, and if we had stayed longer this would have been a real problem

7.0“A few tweaks/ updates and this house will be back to fantastic”
+The house is in the ideal spot. Little brewery at the end of the street, enough parking, Hareshaw Linn walk starting outside the property, three lovely village pubs and amenities on your doorstep. The hosts had tea bags and biscuits out for our arrival, and the Christmas tree was up with lights on, which was a lovely surprise. Heating was on as requested, and it had plenty of glasses/ cups/ plates for 7 adults.
−This property was fantastic at one point; however, the hosts have let a few things slip that are easily solved. - The plug in the main bathroom is old, rusty and dirty ( This brings the bathroom down) - The bathroom had shampoo/ conditioner/ soap dispensers with nothing in, - The top of the stairs carpet is worn and coming away, with carpet running on full display - The house needs a lick of paint. Walls are chipped and flaking - If you advertise a real stove fire, logs should be left for guests to use. - The settee situation is silly. To advertise a house for eight people, but only have one corner sofa in the living room for eight people to sit on is ridiculous. (Luckily, I read this on quite a few other reviews, so I brought my own camping chair, which was definitely needed for our group) * On the Sunday when we were leaving, all the power went out. This was 8:30am on Sunday morning, so we were unable to have breakfast, and there was no electricity or hot water before leaving the house for the 10 am check-out. This was a planned power cut to fix some lines/ cables. The host should have warned us of this on booking!

8.0“Lovely cosy cottage and great location.”
+Had everything we needed and great for a family stay.
−Sofa was not big enough for 8 people and beds a bit firm, however overall a lovely place.
