“Stunning location, with cozy rooms.”
+The location of Drumgarry is absolutely beautiful - Ardvassar is such a lovely village with a small cafe (with gorgeous stunning breakfast!) but still within fairly easy reach of other bigger settlements. Whilst we were there during the off season, we still found Skye to have different little bits to do, although we could have easily have stayed within the cottage for the whole weekend. The house is tastefully decorated, and although the fire wasn't able to be used whilst we were staying, it warmed up quickly with the electric heaters. The kitchen was well equipped, allowing us to have a family dinner on the Saturday night. We could love to come again!
−The shower hose has a slight crack in it, although this did not detract from our stay at all. Genuinely a lovely weekend and the house is fantastic.

+Drumgarry is located in a very quiet, scenic part of Skye, easily accessible both from Skye Bridge and the Mallaig ferry. The home is truly homely - with lovely comfortable furniture and personal finishing touches, and equipped with almost everything one could need for a short or even longer stay on the island. We had to bunker down for 2 days given the snow storms that were moving across Skye at the time, but we really loved just relaxing in this lovely home, cooking up large wintery meals for ourselves, and sitting looking out at the ever changing views from the lounge and bedroom windows 🤩 We also really appreciated how easy it was to communicate with Kyle, and the lengths he went to to ensure the house was warm throughout our stay despite issues he was having with his fireplace and chimney :)
−We struggled a bit with hot water in the bathrooms at times.

“Beautiful Views & Beauitful Cottage”
+Cottage was very well-kept, clean and loads of space, Views were prefect our boys loved the house and internet connection. Can not fault the place, keep it up beautiful and clean We loved it

“Charming house, but sadly affected by the storm”
+The house was beautiful, really charming and nicely decorated. The host was extremely attentive, even before the booking, she replied quickly and was always helpful.
−Unfortunately, due to the storm, we spent all three days without electricity, hot water, or heating. We also couldn’t cook or properly enjoy the house, which was a real shame because it was such a lovely place. After the incident, we requested a refund since the house was completely unusable, but unfortunately, the host refused to return the money.

+House in the middle of nowhere for ourselves: no sounds except waves of the sea (and those only with open windows). Great restaurant 2 minutes down the road. View to the sea and mainland Scotland. Washer, dryer and dishwasher.
−Not clear that the central heating is controlled from the coal fireplace. Problematic as one in our group fears (open) fire. And that takes ages to get warm. The gardener who came while we were there who looked into our windows. Please let him come on the days when noone is there! The shower is no longer draining that well.

+Everything, this house is a true find, beautifully looked after, clean, spacious and hidden away. We had such a cosy welcome from a warm fire when we arrived, which really was so kind of the owner to do this. Would highly recommend this place

“Wonderful quiet getaway on Skye still near iattractionssland”
+Wonderful place. Absolutely stunning views and extremely quiet, a bit off the beaten track. Had everything we needed to make dinners together and have family time, and close enough to the various Skye attractions that we were able to make day trips. The coal fireplace wasn’t a big deal, although we have experience with wood stoves so that helped. It would always smell a bit like coal in the living room after lighting which was the biggest drawback. The house was plenty warm in April. Things we would have liked: - Shampoo and so on for the shower - More extra blankets. There were just enough for the people here and some were too short for taller folks, so one person slept with multiple socks on (feet uncovered). - Replace the mattresses in the smaller bedroom (not the bunk room). One of them especially is very collapsed and not suitable for adults with back issues. - Cooking oil and more spices and so on. Really wonderful and unique place either way, I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quiet getaway.
