“Friends stay in Split”

“Great apartment with exceptional views”
+Great apartment. Hostess was already there waiting with the key. She was very friendly and accommodating. Explained everything very clearly and carefully. The apartment was excellent. Modern tasteful decor with outstanding views. Walking distance to the old town and riva. Joker shopping centre was just around the corner. Don't judge a book by its cover. The building looks like a standard European residential block. but the room was a wonderful surprise. Rooms were spacious & living area was great. Big windows lets lots of light in. The second toilet was a bit squashy, but considering the location & with 2 spacious bedrooms, it was manageable.
−The only thing I didn't like was that we could only stay for 2 days due to out travel schedule.

+The apartment was beautiful, everything was clean and organised. The view out onto the city and sea was amazing and I loved every second of it

+This apartment had been tastefully decorated and included everything that you would need for an enjoyable stay. It had quality fittings and furnishings and plenty of crockery, cutlery and glass ware all top quality. Having a washing machine was a large plus.
−The property may have been slightly further from the tourist area than we would normally choose but it was about a 25 minute walk to the old town.

“We left and are out the cost of two nights accommodations.”
+Nothing. We did not stay. The location was sketchy, looks like a slum tower on exterior, inside front entrance and stairwells were very dirty. No signage outside unit to indicate it was a registered legal suite for rental.
−Instructions for entry to building, parking (which is nearly impossible in that neighborhood) and how to use ancient elevator to get to the 9th floor were not provided. It does not matter that the inside of the suite has been updated. We felt very unsafe in the building and neighborhood.

+the place was spacious and comfortable for the three of us
−One of the bathrooms constantly smelled bad. We messaged the host and they said its normal since the building is really tall and to leave the door open, close the toilet and put some spray. It didn't really work so we all just used the other bathroom - though we booked the place because we wanted two bathrooms. One annoying but was the parking situation. There is a free parking lot in the back but its first come first serve, there is no dedicated parking space for yu and apparently its rare to get a spot, the host was surprised that we found one. We ended up not using the car because we were worried to not get a spot if we left - so was frustrating that we rented a car but had to uber everywhere as if there is no parking space when we got back, we would have to pay for parking at the meter and update the meter every few hours. The outside of the building is also a bit run down.

+Really clean and well laid out apartment, kitchen living was very good and as tourists was really well provided for to allow you to cook onsite if you wanted Sandra was excellent to communicate with and worked hard to help on anything we asked
−Yes two bathrooms - but neither are ensuite. Aircon is in main room, bedrooms had fans, bedrooms need aircon If you're hoping to get parking close - street parking is not easy to find As there is no onsite parking specific for you and apartment is on a busy street - unloading / loading wasn't easy

+The apartment was nicely furnished with all the amenities we needed for a 4 night stay, 2 couples. Very spacious and comfortable. Easy to get around with Uber.
−Parking. We got very lucky as when we arrived someone from parking behind the building was pulling out. If that hadn't happened, parking would have been a problem. Essentially only some street parking is available.
