2.0“Nice Location - Owners and property conditions make it an Absolute Disaster!”
+The Layout and bedrooms/beds were great for us with 6 adults and 9 kids. The complete lack of cell phone and internet at the cabin were a mixed blessing - absolutely no way to contact people without driving a mile but no one sat around on their phones. With the issues we had, needing to drive a mile every single time something went wrong was a real pain.
−Stay was a disaster. From check in (Late) where we looked at a grill that was rusted through. Owner "It's fine. It'll light" We did not have hot water for THREE DAYS. We spent 2 days sopping up water from the water leaks. Floor was flooded, the carpet splashed when you walked on it, the No hot water which meant No Showers. 15 people, hot and dusty and No showers. Owners told us that Cold showers are good for you. (my cardiologist said Absolutely Not for me). On the 2nd evening, water was flooding so bad, they came out and shut it off. They refused to call an emergency plumber but "just happened to have" 36 gallon jugs of water for us to flush toilets. I was 4 weeks out of cardiac surgery and I am having to carry in gallon jugs of water so I can flush toilets. Dishwasher didn't work and her reply was "It would be good to teach the kids how to wash dishes. Or they do sell paper plates" (direct quote from her text). Our kids and their families left 2 days early. The wet carpet and the smell along with fans they insisted we run day and night were too much. We all were gone a day early. With no hot water, we had to heat water on the stove to was dishes each morning as we were feeding 15

4.0“I would never recommend this place for anyone”
+Property was in a great location. It was clean and had plenty of room
−John and Patricia texted us the first night that our kids were being too noisy and we were all in bed. The second night they approached our cabin at 10 o’clock, very aggressively and we’re yelling and screaming to find out they were both intoxicated ended up scaring the kids to where they wanted to go home and to find out it was a house that was water but why would you approach a cabin rental? That way is beyond me?

10.0“Peaceful, relaxing and everything we needed for a family getaway.”
+It was the perfect size for our family of 15, we had everything we needed to make meals and relax.
−The adults loved having no cell reception, the kids not so much, this is not in the control of the owners and we will stay again regardless.

8.0“Extended Family side x side trip”
+The house was comfortable and remote, perfect for an extended family side x side trip. Close enough to Custer for daily trips to town for gas, yet quiet and within minutes to the trails.. Ten adults ate and slept comfortably. Parking was available for two cars, three trucks & trailers as well as four side x sides. Excellent communication with hosts.

4.0“Disappointing”
+The property was in a good location, surrounded by trees and about 10 minutes from Custer. Not having Wifi or cell phone reception was a positive, as it gave us some time to "unplug" and focus on spending time together.
−Upon arrival, there were about 50 moths flying around the cabin. I single-handedly killed over 30 with a fly swatter the first night. This made many of our guests uncomfortable as moths were found under pillows, in the water tank of the coffee maker, etc. The lodge was not as clean and well maintained as we had hoped based on reviews. There was black mold growing around the bathtub and water leaking from the toilet bowl in the bathroom. In addition, the lodge had an unpleasant odor that kind of smelled like mildew or body odor. Our interactions with the hosts were disappointing. We had the feeling of being scrupulously watched and monitored during our stay, almost like having "helicopter hosts". Unfortunately we did not feel treated as valued guests, but rather with suspicion.

8.0“Wonderful place. Great for getting people together. Just the right distance from town.”
+Had a great time, lots of bedrooms and beds. Great layout and overall cleanliness was good. All the dishes and cooking items we needed.
−Overall the cabin was very clean. Shower curtain in Master was quite dirty. This was the biggest disappointment regarding cleanliness especially because this is an item that is very easy to swap out with a clean one while the dirty one is being cleaned. Another thing that would have been nice would be to have at least a small area around the cabin mowed and kept up. I understand that this is a relatively primitive area, but there were thick weeds right up the building and patios along with some weeds coming through the cracks in the patio. Would also have liked to have a gas fire pit, but this was not something we expected since it was not advertised as having one. BlueTooth speakers might be better than the CD player. These comments are meant to help not complaining.

9.0“Superb”
+The location was awesome, really close to all the sights we wanted to visit. It was in the middle of a wooded area with other cabins near by, but it was very quiet at night we could not hear any loud noises from the near by cabins.
−Really can not complain about anything. The cabin did get hot in the afternoon but cooled right off in the evening with the windows open. The moths were pretty bad ,but we were warned ahead of time by the owner about the moths. Like I said we can't really complain about anything after all it is a cabin in the woods.
