7.0“Great location, excellent housekeeping, very cold”
+Very good location for NYMR down lots of steps, very clean.
−Stayed 2 nights. First night was freezing. Advised to utilise the blankets and put a jumper on. The heating was supposed to come on twice a day but I later found out was set at 8 degrees so never came on. It was only when going upstairs to bed I found the thermostat (which I was advised not to change due to high heating costs) that I turned it up. Spend the night really cold and uncomfortable. If you have young children you need to change the minimum temperature. Very disappointing. Please put your prices up if you need to. You are in a great location and an extra £5 or so a night will be acceptable rather than sitting in the cold. Two logs and a few sticks would not make an indent into the temperature with the wood burner. I know I could have bought more logs but had parked up, with difficulty, for the two nights so didn’t want to move the car. Neither did I want to carry a bag of logs up the hill from the town centre as a solo OAP travelller.

7.0“Adequate for a short stay”
+The crisp linen. The ease of the shower. Good wi-fi and tv, especially Netflix.
−2 light bulbs were out. Hated not being able to open windows in the main bedroom. Tricky heating appliance. Dreadful bedside lamps in main bedroom. Parking was an issue.

8.0“Great base for a short break.”
+Great location close to centre of Pickering. But also in a quiet area. Easy to park on side street. Beds were very comfortable. The cottage is cosy, well equipped and nicely decorated.
−Third bedroom didn’t have any power points and no bedside light. The outside seating area is very unattractive and could do with being improved.

8.0“Was overall a lovely cottage, would stay again”
+Great location in town right next to Pickering castle and close to shops, bars and places to eat. The cottage itself had a lovely kitchen living space
−The shower wasn’t great and the single beds were quiet uncomfortable

10.0“Amazing property and highly recommended.”
+The host had thought of everything that a visitor might need when staying away from home and the bed in the main bedroom was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on!
−Parking is a bit tricky but there was only one occasion when we had to park further away.

8.0“We enjoyed the area and found exploring was easy both on foot in the village and by steam train and”
+Great location easy to walk into the centre .
−Open plan living room meant it was hard to heat and only a few ligs provided for the log burner . In winter these are not an added luxury but essential. Parking was difficult and we had to park on a nearby estate but nothing can be done about that .
