+Great house with beautiful views over the Douro river. The house was spacious and clean with a fantastic outside BBQ/pool/garden area overlooking the river. The house can fit 4 couples or 2-3 families. We had nice weather and spent much time outside in the garden, making BBQs, enjoying the views and playing table football/pool. We really appreciated finding some welcome drinks and snacks in the house already which was a nice surprise. There was a lot of practical things already present, including candles, charcoal for the BBQ and kitchen cleaning items that made it easy to enjoy the house as soon as we arrived. There is a little river beach just 5 minutes down the road which the kids liked. The 2rios restaurant on that beach had a great Francesinha that we recommend trying. Supermarkets are ~ 5 min drive.

“Great place to stay with a family”
+Large house with secure parking on sight. The views of the river Douro were very nice. The patio was relaxing. The kitchen is great with a very nice range/oven. It is very quiet in the area and we had a relaxing stay.
−It is a little remote and there are not a lot of restaurants close, but if you are eating at the house that won't mater.

+Everything about the house and our stay at Casa do Rio was perfect. Each of the rooms are big and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and the outside area and the view was more than we expected. The communication with the host was easy and friendly, and check in and check out was seamless. We 100% recommend and we will visit again!

+Fantastic location overlooking the Douro. 5 minute drive from local supermarkets. Nice balcony where you can barbecue and eat with a fantastic view.
−Need to be careful with you food, leftovers and crumbs, watching out for ants! The owner warmed us about this and we kept it under control easily.
