“I wish I hadn't stayed there”
−"Had a terrible experience here and a really disappointing end to our holiday. I believe the incident was caused by the unsafe layout of the apartment. On our last night, I fell down 9 concrete steps while trying to go to the toilet in the dark. Getting out of bed is difficult enough, but I could not find the light switches. There is no door at the top of the stairs or on the bathroom, and they are located right next to each other, causing me to fall forward down the steps. I am now off work due to my injuries, and I have faced significant difficulties getting a meaningful response from the owner or Booking.com. We also had to deal with a leak during our stay which we had to clean up ourselves. This is our 3rd visit to Olhão, and there are much better and safer places out there."

“Another great stay”
+This was our third stay at Casa do Chico as we really like the property. The property layout is perfect for a very relaxing holiday. The huge well equipped terrace which captures the sun from sunrise to just before sunset is a great asset. You can see marina and market from the terrace. The location is perfectly placed for a 1-2 minute walk to a well stocked supermarket. Many restaurants are located within 5 mins walk. There is a restaurant below, but it has never negatively impacted our stay. The terrace is not overlooked by any close buildings. The host is very friendly and approachable with any queries you have. Must add the bed is very comfortable.

“Fantastic stay here, everything we needed!”
+Fantastic stay! The location is fabulous with a great view over the market and marina, right on the main strip and in the old town but it didn't feel too busy. The bed was really comfortable, great shower and bath. Everything we needed! Plus there was a giant Stork nest a few rooftops over so it was amazing to see the big storks flying past occasionally! And the host was really responsive and was able to let us have a late check out as our flight was in the evening. Would definitely go back. Olhao is such a magical wee place (walk along past the marina centre car park to the nature park to see wonderful birdlife inc flamingoes!)
−The only thing that might be notable for others is that the bathroom is not in a separate room. There is a dividing wall but it is not fully up to the ceiling. Wasn't an issue for us but could a considertation for others.

“Wonderful, generous apartment in a fab location”
+We loved this apartment: flawlessly clean, generous in all ways (particularly the huge terrace and lovely big bath), excellent location and fabulous spot for a wee holiday right by the ferry port with plenty options for lovely day trips. We hope to return asap!

“Great location, slightly uncomfortable to use.”
+Location on the waterfront in the centre of town. Lots of outdoor space and place to sit. Bright space. Good warm AC (we were there when it was cold). Easy check in. Free, large off-season car park 200 m to the east.
−A slightly uncomfortable design. Getting in and out of the bed platform is a bit awkward, and particularly worth knowing if you have restricted joint mobility. It all looks beautiful but the indoor wire and wood chairs with the table are uncomfortable to sit and eat at.

“central location, clean, comfortable and well equipped”
+Initial thoughts were wow! thoughtfully designed, light and modern with nice touches, comfortable bed, large fluffy towels, quality toiletries, lots of hot water and a powerful shower. There was a good supply of toilet paper, washing up liquid etc, plenty crockery and glasses, fabulous to have washing machine, Location is ideal, supermarket very close, an easy walk to train station , bus and water ferry across the road.
−I wanted to love it, but Regrettably after a day or two the smell from the neighbouring restaurant extractor fan made the huge terrace unusable for me. it didn’t bother my husband, so depending on your tolerance to smells it may not be an issue. Having said that I’m unsure how the host could remedy this given the nature of the property. Other than a hanging rail there is no storage for clothes for a stay of more than a few days. A little maintenance is required to keep the property up to standard but perhaps this was because it was the end of the season. the stairs inside to the apartment look stunning but as others have mentioned are very steep and uneven, extreme care is required and definitely not suitable for those with limited mobility.
