“Amazing”
+This property was so amazing. The owner is a wonder. They helped us accommodate our vegetarian diet for the breakfast offered and they gave us rain poncho and a pijama too. They are very hospitable and great people. The rooms are in their house basically so you can experience a local japanese life here, which was awesome for us. There is a shared kitchen which has everything you need for cooking and the breakfast has a large variety of dishes. Mostly stuff from the convenience store. The shared bathroom is nice and clean too. They had a great idea that every room has to reserve a one hour slot to use it and this way you know for sure that it is available to you. No need to wait until the others finish. We loved the traditional japanese room with tatami and a futon. We had super good sleep there. The wifi was reliable too. There are multiple connecting options to the city, including direct metro to the Kyoto station so it is easy to get around. I highly recommend this place.

−I just didn’t like that is a shared bathroom (but that is a personal thing and I knew it was going to be shared), but it was VERY clean.

+Super friendly hosts, and common area where we were able to meet others. Easy access to mountains for hiking.
−Breakfast was simply a pantry where you could select food items, free of charge. Nice, but not quite a breakfast as booking would have had me believe.

“Great traditional house in Kyoto. Amazing hosts.”
+We stayed here for four nights during our trip to Japan, and I would definitely repeat my stay whenever I come back to Kyoto. Sho-san and his son were excellent hosts. They were extremely pleasant, always with a smile and made us feel more than welcome at their home. It's a traditional japanese house, old but very well kept, clean and with all the amenities available. It is very picturesque, and the room was what we expected, cute and with very comfortable tatami mattresses. You have a kitchen available with lots of varied foods for breakfast. Although the house is far from the usual touristic sites, it's well connected with a bus stop just infront of the house where 3 buses pass that can take you to Kyoto centre and have several touristic sites on their route, so it's very convenient. Also, you have through several can take you to Kyoto center. You also have kokusaykaikan metro station at about a 15-minute walking distance that can connect you fast to Kyoto station.

“A convenient accommodation in northeast Kyoto with a super nice owner.”
+The property is a bit far from typical major tourist attractions, but is located on a main road very close to public transportation either by train or by bus (less than 2 min). Ideally located for exploring northeast section of Kyoto. The property is not new but very well maintained and very clean. It is a simple tatami floored room and you would be sleeping on a futon. The room had a kotatsu table where you could warm yourself which I really appreciated. The shared kitchen was very well stocked with breakfast food which you had free access to. The best thing about the accommodation though was the very friendly owner. He was very accommodating and concerned about my comfort during my stay. Gave me suggestions about places to see and eat nearby and even gave me a souvenir to remember my stay by.
−I was comfortable there, but it is a Japanese style accommodation with shared bath and toilets so it won’t be for everyone.
