−Do not come near this place! Immediately after booking, the host demanded an astronomical and ridiculous €700 deposit, and when we wanted to cancel, he said we would be charged the full price anyway. We arrived exhausted after a whole day of ferries and in the peak of the heat. We told the host we would pay the deposit because we had no choice, but the process took some time. The host refused to let us in, disappeared, ignored our phone calls, and we were forced to wait for nearly an hour on the sidewalk. The stairs going up are so narrow that our suitcase couldn't even fit through, and we literally had to unpack it just to bring our belongings up. The apartment itself might look fine, but the bed is terrible and uncomfortable, and the air conditioning barely works. On top of everything, the neighborhood is sketchy, full of drugs, and scary to walk around in the evening. Disgusting and hostile attitude. Save yourself the heartache and book somewhere else!

+The location is near a Vietnamese restaurant and a small shop. They're about 200 to 300 meters away. Oh, and the fluffy towels are great! I like the white interior too.
−The neighborhood felt sketchy. The Uber driver mentioned that there’s a lot of bars nearby. We didn’t hear it at night though. To reach the room on the third floor, we had to climb a narrow, spiral steel ladder, which was tough for my big and tall husband. No hairdryer

“An oasis for the right traveler”
+Great staff. Cute cozy oasis in the heart of Athens with a huge rooftop patio. Feels like a private nest, an escape from the city. Well appointed; I stayed alone here for several weeks and didn't need to buy anything for the kitchen or space. Washing machine and dryer available, big shower, plenty of hot water and water pressure. The bed and towels are clean and fresh. The bed could use a topper as the springs and starting to poke a bit. But there was air conditioning and heating, good windows, and I loved the rooftop. Please read full review to see why I'm being so specific about the space vs the neighbourhood: Great for a single guy or a couple who likes cozy spaces, or a single female traveling WITH a group who is also staying in the same building. Better for people who are physically able to walk up several flights of a narrow spiral stairway, and don't have very large wheeled bags. A few blocks to 2 metro stations.
−While the space itself is cozy, the neighbourhood is unfortunately quite sketchy, chock full of hard drugs and petty crime, and can be dangerous. This is not the fault of the Astrid staff, and is no reflection on the space itself, which is behind locked doors and up a spiral staircase and seems quite safe. However, I can't recommend vulnerable people such as single women or those with children to walk through the Omonia or Metaxourgeio areas alone, especially after dark. I did encounter several problems in the neighbourhood that made me want to avoid this area in the future. I recommend a taxi to and from your door rather than walking, and keep an eye on your valuables. This part of Athens is not for the faint of heart, nor the novice or even intermediate traveler. So you'll enjoy your stay much more if you are aware and take precautions to keep yourself safe at all times. If you want an island in the center of the city, and you're prepared for some rough scenes on the streets around you, then go for it.

“Apartamento sucio, deteriorado y malos anfitriones”

−Suciedad en general, utensilios de cocina sucios, manchas en sofás y camas, humedades,terraza sucia y llena de colillas. Deteriorado en general, desconchados, pomos rotos, etc. Con la cama no cierra la puerta, hay que pasar el cable de la lámpara por encima de la mesa para tener luz, etc. Mala comunicación y trato con el amfitrión, el checking confuso en dirección y acceso que nos llevó a equivocarnos de apartamento. Accedimos a unas llaves según sus instrucciones pero no eran de nuestro alojamiento ¿? Después no contactaron con nosotros para subsanar el error ni por teléfono ni por wasap, solo mediante mensajería booking de la que no recibíamos correctamente los mensajes. Después de no esforzarse por contactar nos pasaron un cargo por el error. Booking tampoco ayudó en esto. La calle es poco recomendable para transitat de noche, hay drogodependientes tomando su dosis a lo largo de toda la calle.

+Le petit studio est conforme aux photos, avec beaucoup plus de lumière sur les photos. Bonne wifi. Bonne literie. Salle de bain OK avec douche. La machine à laver sur le palier. la terrasse super.
−Faire très attention si vous réservez ce studio,l'escalier en colimaçon de 3 etages ,60cm de largeur est très rude,si vous avez des problèmes de mobilité ,si vous avez un gros sac de voyage,cela peut être un problème. L'arrivée se fait avec une boîte à clé, donc personne pour vous aider. Le quartier peut être un soucis,je viens à Athènes chaque année, mais ce lieu est particulièrement mal fréquenté et très sale. Junkies dans la rue qui se piques devant vous ,qui dorment sur le trottoir .si vous avez des enfants je vous déconseille. La caution de 1000€réclamer est un peu exagéré vu l'endroit.
