“Great location”
+The location, right in the centre of the Shambles district. The history of the building
−All the drains in the showers needed clearing and there was a damp smell throughout the building

“disappointing.”
+location was good BUT rest of stay was dampened by apartment. not very clean in entrance at all, ok is best in apartment for cleanliness, plenty of room and could be great BUT poor workmanship lets it down. cheap bathrooms and top floor shower lets more water into kitchen than the actual shower. too many historic leaks to hide and causes a light smell of damp. IF they get problems sorted it could have been a lot better stay BUT personally I wouldn't use again. we did ask for a partial refund but was denied with poor excuses.

“Nice apartment in the middle of the city”
+Right in the middle of the centre and great location. Worked really well for a big group.
−As many other reviews state, it needs a really good deep clean and a some tender loving care. It’s looking tired and could do with a freshen up.

“Good”
+The central location was great however it did mean it was noisy at night time. Amenities were very local and the location was ideal first access to everything. Quirky building.
−The noise from the bars over the narrow roadway was really loud and due to the building being listed there was no double glazing. The beds were uncomfortable and all the mattresses need replacing really. 2 out of the 3 showers didn't drain resulting in very quick showers having to be taken with the shower being turned off in-between washing hair etc to stop the shower from flooding. The rooms have some damp damage and the kitchen had some water damage down one wall that looked quite significant. This had apparently happened recently following on some drainage issues, which looked to have not been successfully resolved. It just needs abit of TLC

“Excellent property in an excellent location.”
+This is a spacious property for a group of friends or family to base themselves in whilst visiting York. An excellent location. Communication with the host was also excellent, they were able to accommodate a change of dates due to rail disruption. We appreciated that greatly.
−A couple of comments as feedback whilst we appreciated this is a listed building, there was there was a large area of damp in the kitchen on the wall which was off putting. Additionally, the main double room at the front of the property is prone to noise in the early hours of the morning, specifically refuge collection vehicles. Apart from that all was well. We would happily rebook and recommend this property.

“Great location but needs a proper clean.”
+Great location and facilities, nice people to deal with.
−It needs some repair and a deep clean. There was muck and smears on the walls around the entrance to the bathroom and outside of a surface clean, it really wasn’t. Even stains that I dar not guess at on the long sofa.
